What's New in The Cut

Build any event you can describe — and a big scoring fix. CUSTOM TOURNAMENTS AND TRIPS Describe the event out loud and it builds itself: six-man teams with three pairs inside, a different format for each, flights, a horse race off the back of it. Or hand it last year's Word document or an Excel roster and it reads the event straight out of the file. Tap through it block by block instead if you'd rather. FIXED — YOUR SCORES STAY PUT In a big field, a card being filled in could lose typed-but-unsaved scores when somebody else in the event saved a hole. It doesn't any more. If you typed it, it stays. ALSO FIXED - Leaderboards show score to par everywhere, alongside the total - The card stops jumping you forward when you go back to fix a hole - Player initials on the scorecard are legible again - Side games built for pairs no longer try to include the whole field YOUR EVENT, ON THE WEB Give a tournament its own web address to text the field — the format, the day's schedule, and a sign-up form anyone can open without the app. Private until you decide otherwise. THE CALCUTTA, LIVE Owners, teams and the running order stay on screen through the round instead of living on one page you have to go and find. Simpler navigation throughout, and a new "How to run it" guide in the menu. EVENT PAGES AND ENTRY FEES (Guidelines 3.1.1, 3.1.3) New in 1.4: an organizer can give their tournament a public web page — format, schedule, who's playing, and a sign-up form. If the event charges an entry fee for the real-world golf (green fees, lunch, prizes), the organizer types the amount and how to pay them, for example "Venmo @name" or "cash at the first tee", and the page displays that text. The Cut does not process, hold or transfer any of it. There is no payment rail, no wallet and no cash-out. This is an organizer telling their own golfers how to pay for a real-world event — a service delivered outside the app, not digital content. There is deliberately no numeric fee field anywhere in the schema: the amount is free text, and nothing in the app can total it. Unrelated to, and not connected with, the points-and-units side games described above.
