Too much hassle when moving

It takes too much time and unnecessary animation to move one place to one another. Might be better to omit the shot of the door and just straight go into another room instead.

Beyond the border

While I have no problem with the usual requisites of horror-escape-games as pieces of bodies, blood or sudden ghostly appearances, I definitely draw the line, when the game demands of me to actively pull the trigger to eletrocute or otherwise kill somebody as „punishment“. No.

Too gross for me

Writing this review to remind myself not to buy any more of these. They aren’t bad games but they are too gross for me.

Glitches

It took this game about two minutes to glitch out and completely stop working. There were a few minor glitches at first and then the whole screen went black. No matter what I did, this kept happening. I’m very upset I paid money for a game I will never get to play.

This game was created by a psychopath!

Wow. This game is creepy as fk! Only a criminal deviant of the lowest order, could conceive of some sht like this!

Response from developer

I'm intrigued by your visceral response to a hand-drawn horror game. The game was definitely designed to become creepier as play progresses. And as the story unfolds, you, as the protagonist, are eventually confronted with the villainous ghost of Ernie Hobbes who has committed unspeakable crimes against you and your family. If this game doesn't make you feel uncomfortable by the finale then perhaps it's time to check into Hotel Orpheus. Thanks for the review!

Great game.

I really enjoy these games. The puzzles are difficult and the levels are intricate. The creepy ambience reminds me of Rusty Lake games. Well done.

Nice

Good puzzles while also a good story.

Just a few things that would be good to tweak:
1. The curtain on the door in the prison room is just irritating since when trying to drag it down it drags down the notification center for my phone lol. Maybe add like a pull string or something to the curtain?
2. The ability to skip the long zoom-ins to the Prison room entrance and the Emergency Exit once seeing the cutscene once already.

But overall great game. Hope there's more to come.

Super

Exceeding limits of crudity

A pity, the game is well made! A bit gloomy and macabre, still sort of ok. But when it comes to electrocution - I’m out!

Gamerguy

Not happy with this game at all you have glitches. Do you have puzzles that are impossible to solve because you don’t provide the necessary equipment or tools. I would like my money back. I can’t get any further because you never gave me the broken umbrella behind the bench

Response from developer

I’m sorry you had trouble with the game. The bug you mentioned in your review has never been reported before. Please update the game and try again.

Fantastic and well made

Quality point and click games are thin on the ground. This is a real gem. So worth the money and a proper treat to play. Can’t wait for the next one.

Fun

Great game. I had to use a walk through on YouTube to complete it, but it was still a fun escape room.

Great Sequel To Hotel Orpheus

Not only a sequel, but a great standalone game even for those unfamiliar with the series. Greatly improved upon the gameplay of the first game, I can gladly say that this took me a few hours to get through, between finding all the hidden objects and the puzzles. One very minor complaint would be the lack of a fast-travel map, which wasn't needed in the first game, but the absence of which makes this game a little tedious near the end. Still, the artwork, atmosphere, and story were more than enough for a game of this genre, and I can't wait to see what the creators come out with next!

Good game in fun creepy series

This is a fun, creepy game in the Hotel Orpheus series. There are a lot of interesting rooms and locations to explore and I like that there is a lot of stuff that you can interact with. The hint system is really well done where it first gives you a lot of small nudges toward the solution instead of just giving you the answer right away. You also get to choose what puzzles you want help with so it doesn’t just spoil the challenge. One thing I didn’t like was that it felt kind of linear where one puzzle led to the next which led to the next etc which is frustrating if you’re stuck on a certain puzzle. It was also a little bit short, but it is currently free so I’m not complaining too much. Over all fun game with good challenges and cool, creepy atmosphere. I look forward to the next game from this dev.

Great puzzles, ambience, and storyline

If you like puzzle games with a creepy atmosphere, this ticks all the boxes. The game difficulty is a little above average, but the hint system is easy to access if you need it. (Hints are gentle nudges in the right direction— you still have to figure things out.) There’s a “skip” function on a few time-consuming puzzles. It came in handy on the shifting tiles in the sewer. The Alley and Kitchen areas are both full of fun items. Discovering everything was a blast.

Be careful with navigation. It’s tricky because sometimes hitting the back arrow backs you up, and sometimes it turns you 180 degrees. I feel like there should be more consistency on that. Personally, I’d like a map function so I could gauge how far I was from the spot I needed to be.

I enjoyed the heck out of this game. (It should be noted, however, that nearly no gameplay takes place in the freezer.)

Excellent with a caveat

This is one of the better escape games I’ve found. We’ll done, with useful help. My biggest problem with it is that there is a lot of tedious traveling back and forth between locations. I would have preferred it if once you find a location, you can choose between locations instantly instead of having to retrace your step.

Thoroughly enjoyed this!

Having played the previous 2 Hotel Orpheus games, I was excited when this popped up. The fact it was free (on a limited time offer) was surprising, as I would have gladly paid a few quid to play it. Some of the puzzles were easy, some… not so much. More gruesome than the previous HO games, but altogether very entertaining. Please make more!

Frustrating

I really enjoyed the other two games, but I’m having a hard time getting into this one. It’s much more difficult and I’m stuck and unable to progress any further. The hints don’t help when they tell you things like smash the clock with a rock, but don’t tell you how to get the rock. I see rocks (I think) in the garage, but nothing happens when I click on them. I gave up and deleted the game.

Response from developer

Sorry you were having issues with the game. Per your suggestions I'm going to add better hints in the next update. Thanks for playing my game.

Weird

Another weird game in the series, but I like it. It’s difficult at times so the hint system is appreciated. I found moving around a little frustrating at times as you can’t always go directly to a spot, but have to tap on another spot and then use the arrows to get to the spot you want, and that is a little slow. I also found a couple of the puzzles frustrating when they would completely reset if you tapped the wrong spot, and that can be done accidentally, but you can just skip them.
