I’m a student KIPP and my teacher uses this Admin Ahh tool TO LITERALLY SPY ON YOU AND BLOCK THINGS THAT ARE ARE EDUCATIONAL
No privacy
Get this app if you want your privacy taken away from you completely. This app used to have a feature before they removed it where they could turn on your webcam and you had no way to turn in off. Some of my homework requires me to go on websites, like art class where I need to find info about the art piece. While I’m looking, 90% of the websites will be blocked. I’ll be looking at the website, “art.com” or “pablopicassoofficialart.org” and it will be blocked. Do not get this app unless you want to torture your child, students, or I guess yourself.

I’m an LanSchool student but why does it basically control your own computer and you can’t do anything about it. It makes the student feel like a prisoner. And then they block every single fun website, are they trying to take away every ounce of our joy

Im a student named jaxon serrano i hate this app i get that its to keep students on task BUT ITS ABILITIES ARE WAY TO OVERPOWERED it can disable browsing, close tabs, monitor your screen, check your browsing history, block websites, and even turn on your camera to see what your doing in person… i wish i can give this 0 stars, we are in America, we have freedom stop taking that from us we have a right for privacy TAKE THIS APP DOWN NOW! As a student that there district uses gogaurdian and this application is useless and pointless it puts pressure on already stressed out students and a teacher closed my tab over THANKSGIVING BREAK for playing a game and i felt extremely uncomfortable and scared this should not be legal. Student here- I HATE THIS.
I am a student that is one of the top of the class AND STILL SUFFER BECAUSE OF THIS APP. I once opened “Renaissance” which is a very trustable reading app to find books and test on them. Ever since I was introduced to this app, I kept it as a tab to go in quicker. One day, I opened the tab, logged in, and found “THIS APP HAS BEEN BLOCKED”. I now have to go to something something in order to go in to Renaissance. ITS ANNOYING. After school, I searched “Learning Games”, blocked. I put it in other words, BLOCKED! I also search something for example, “Wild animals that team up together to get food”, it gets blocked. Lots of times I put what shows up in the suggestions because I’m sometimes lazy or what I’m searching is too long! When I click a suggestion I needed, BLOCKED. I have to type it myself! I hate this app.

I hate this, give us our privacy back
this is the only reason I downloaded goguardian. To write a HORRIBLE review. I hate this thing so much and it so incredibly annoying! I think I can speak for all students here, we want privacy. We don't want privacy because we're doing bad things, we want privacy because this thing basically lets teachers spy on us. I got in trouble for searching up "whobis the father of Aphrodite" and got in trouble because it was "iready time". I hate this app so much and I'm giving this thing the lowest rating I can.

Worst app ever to exist.
I’m a student, and I’m a beginner in Italian. My Italian teacher recommended the class to use ‘WordRefrence’ so we did, 3 days later it was blocked. Mind you, this website is used for LOOKING UP words in a language YOU DON’T KNOW, it’s meant to be a replacement for translate/google translate. Not to mention, the over blocking, this hasn’t happened once with WordRefrence, but I was in the middle of a coding app (I am speaking about Scratch) and in the middle of it, it was blocked by gogaurdian. I got a 0 on the assignment, despite me telling the principal, he said ‘well it isn’t educational!!’ well my bad, since when was coding for TECHNOLOGY isn’t educational.
Also, the constant watching. The teachers can see your screen 24/7 all day, all night. Even during BREAKS. Mind you, not all people have home computers and want to keep their privacy, but they can’t. Due to the 24/7 watching.

This app is horrible, I think that yes schools should 100% block inappropriate websites but the fact that a website actually not even that, a AI has kid’s personal information scares me. Also no to mention that when say personal information I MEAN it, teachers and look at what your doing even after school WITHOUT any form of consent! and this website can track stuff like IP addresses and other stuff that it shouldn’t. The fact that kids can’t have their own privacy at least a little bit is so frustrating. Not to mention after all these reviews schools still use it which I find even more scary. I hope if everyone reads this please please please consider what it does.

If you never experienced being watched by the FBI because you’re on the watch list, being watched by your teacher on GoGuardian is the exact definition of that.

I'm a student, and I hate this stupid tool that my school uses. They block everything with it, the school or a teacher can just shut down my browsing until they feel like turning it back on. I've even had google docs and slides blocked multiple times, causing me to lose most my progress on assignments, some of them were even big projects that hugely affected my grade.
GoGuardian also acts as a spyware. I was told by my band teacher a few years ago in 6th grade that if a teacher or admin really wanted to, they could just go on GoGuardian and spy on kids why they're at home. This isn't just students not liking having games blocked. It's active based on the chromebook, not even the internet, so if someone connects to their home internet while out of the school they can still be watched. This app is just Spyware wearing a thin veil of student protection. Stop spying on minors and find a better way to moderate.
