Immediate subscription paywall

When this app launches, it just takes you to a screen insisting that you create a “Crunchyroll” account. Even if you create the account and try to log into it, you get stuck at a screen insisting that you subscribe for $13.99 a month. If you’re not interested in subscribing, you get stuck at this paywall. What a waste of life’s precious minutes. Why even make this look like a stand-alone app if it’s just a portal to a subscription service?

Response from developer

Verre, I totally understand your disappointment with the subscription paywall. It can be frustrating to feel stuck when all you want is to enjoy the app. Just to clarify, the app is part of the Game Vault, which is available to Mega and Ultimate Fan members. We truly value your time and feedback, as it helps us improve. If you have more insights to share, please consider reaching out through the in-app support options. A Story Unlike Any Other

The house in Fata Morgana is a masterpiece. The story is a millennium spanning tale that shifts from the depths of tragedy to the highest points of love, from unsettling mystery and outright horror to the mundane and everyday. There is no story told quite as well as the one told here, the characters are viscerally human and you both come to know them like no other and even revile them like no other. The music, art, sound effects, translation, and presentation ties everything together to make the house in Fata Morgana a delight for the senses. Take the maids hand and see the story until it’s end.

Hope you like losing progress

What kind of iPhone game doesn’t auto-save when you have to leave the app to answer a phone call or respond to a message?
Well, this one.
It also does not sync your saves between devices with iCloud, your Crunchyroll account, or in any other way. Strange for an app that requires a subscription. I suspect that also means you will lose your save if you delete the app or misplace your device.
It’s a shame they neglected this stuff, it’s quite nice otherwise.

Amazing

La plus belle histoire de toute ma vie

J’ai déjà pleuré plusieurs fois devant ce jeu et je l’ai même pas encore fini

A literal gem

Don’t try to look for spoilers because this game relies on plot twists on plot twists. U gotta pay for it but its either that or $25 on steam so…

The best story I’ve ever experienced in a game

Few games have left as profound an impression as this one. Each chapter would be able to stand alone as its own story, but when the game ties them all together it is genuinely one of the most masterfully crafted moments in gaming history. This one will remain in your mind for a long, long time after completing it. Truly a work of art.

One of my favorite stories

Kid you not, one of my favorite stories ever. Great characters, the mysteries unravel well, the plot is great! The music is top notch, the dialogue and narration best of the best! Time to replay! 10/10!

Didn’t realise I need to pay for crunchy roll (gross company) to play this masterpiece.

Game good! Crunchy roll bad.

Chef d’œuvre

Fait sur pc en FR durant le Covid, c’est un chef d’œuvre, ne passez pas à côté de cette œuvre incroyable !

Most beautiful visual novel of all time

And it’s now on iOS! Definitely not for kids, though. Also, you need a Crunchyroll membership

The House in Fata Morgana: A Masterpiece

The House in Fata Morgana can only be described as an otherworldly experience. A serene sense of nostalgia, melancholy and comfort washes over me every time I remember this title: it's enchanting, yet haunting music, gothic oil-painted art style, beautiful depictions of early modern period Europe, and the incredible story, which I consider to be the best of any video game. You wake up in an old, decrepit mansion, a vestige of it's former resplendence, and greeting you is a somber, pale maid, who's motive is to help you remember your status as a former master of this place, although you do not have any recollection of it. The story begins by introducing the former inhabitants of the mansion in their respective times, demonstrating the longevity of this noble abode. You witness their quotidian, the relationships that they form, and as they seemingly have their lives turn for the better, through opportunities of newfound love, the residents always seem to meet a cruel fate sooner rather than later, crushing their novel happiness in a horribly cruel manner. The story then focuses it's aim on a special resident, a supposed witch who has cursed the inhabitants of the mansion in olden times, serving as a cruel twist of fate for the coming generations, but things are never as they seem, as Fata Morgana thinks 5 steps ahead and produces plot twist after plot twist to constantly change the status quo and challenge your understanding of the events surrounding this unearthly mansion. It's truly in the later moments of the story, where you will meet some of the most well written characters in a fictional medium, characters so beautify flawed and relatable due to their human nature, you can't help but wish they overcome their tragic situations. And it's when everything comes together in the last act of this grandiose work of art, where you truly understand the position of every single character through their unlikely relationships, a fleeting, hopeful dream followed by despair and disaster for everyone involved. The themes this game tries to communicate to the reader are so abundantly clear and well realized, you can't help but shiver at every retrospect, every thought put into the illustrious scenarios you deliciously devour while waiting to see what despondency will be brought on the poor, wretched souls that have suffered and made suffer. Emotions will run rampant as you try to contextualize the ever living tragedy found in these chapters, and the conclusion helps wonderfully bring to fruition every single character's journey, potentially letting them see the last chapter of their lives end on a happy note, in a game otherwise governed by sadness and tragedy. The House in Fata Morgana is a story about humanity at it's most primitive, vulnerable state, through the good, the bad and the terror that it can afflict. It is a celebration of art in numerous forms, and anyone who loves to get lost in the world of love and tragedy should experience this spectacular visual novel.

The best of the best. Play it now!

Start this story knowing nothing. Don’t read the description. Start the game and awaken in the mansion, beginning a spellbinding epic journey of love, pain, betrayal, violence, redemption, and revenge. I am glad that I can now accessibly replay this incredible gothic visual novel again and again.

Absolute masterpiece

A once in a lifetime piece of fiction, a story I implore anyone to read at least once before they die.

Chef d’oeuvre !

A must read visual novel.

This was my first visual novel I read and i am glad it was this one. It is not really well known, but recently it has gained popularity on steam due to the visual novel sale which made Fatamoru sale over 10000 copies in a week and I am happy for the team that poured there heart out to make this Visual Novel. I won’t talk about the story because it is a mystery and you should enjoy it that way. I went in without a single spoiler and I loved the time I spent playing this. Must read Story hope you enjoy it.
“I am Gonna play it again but on my iPad this time 😊”
