About

Human Layer is a private vault for your inner life. Thoughts, feelings, dreams, letters, memories: written down, encrypted, and kept on your device. Most apps that promise to understand you send your words to a server to do it. Human Layer does the opposite. The writing stays on your phone, encrypted. The intelligence that reads it runs on your phone too. No account. No sign-in. No network call to any provider, ever. WRITE A calm place to put down what you're actually thinking. Type it, or speak it and let the phone turn your voice into text on-device. Face ID keeps the vault locked for your eyes only. REFLECT The local model reads your own writing and reflects it back to you. The patterns you keep circling. The people who recur. How a stretch of days actually felt. It reflects you back to yourself, it never grades you. ASK Ask a real question of your own journal and get an answer grounded in the passages it came from, every claim traceable to the lines you wrote. All of it computed locally. PRIVATE BY ARCHITECTURE, NOT BY POLICY Your entries are encrypted with XChaCha20-Poly1305. The key is derived from your passphrase and never leaves the device. Syncing to your other devices, if you turn it on, goes through your own iCloud as end-to-end encrypted ciphertext. We never see your writing, because it never reaches us. YOURS TO KEEP As on-device models improve, the reflection improves with them. Your archive stays exactly where it is: with you. The intelligence is interchangeable. The words are the asset, and they are yours. Human Layer. A private layer between you and everything else.
