No Pass & Play
Very disappointed this doesn’t have a pass & play option so I can play locally with friends & family.
Pretty good, but still needs fine tuning
As others have reported, this is a mostly good, not to mention beautiful, digital version of a great board game. There are a few things that make me crazy, though:
The pop-up when playing a treasure card makes it VERY hard, and sometimes impossible, to choose the common treasures you want. The overlay covers them up and you can’t zoom in or out to adjust how they show up on the screen.
Not being able to see how many fish I have at any given time is maddening. Keeping track of your fish is a major strategic need.
Several times my cat has been locked into place when I’ve pushed the ‘rotate’ button. The buttons are just too close together. This is handled much better on the phone app instead of the iPad or tablet app.
Fix these things and I’ll come back with a 5 star review.

Not in german 🤯
Sorry guys without the german version 3 stars is to much, but the game is good. If the german version arives I give more stars.
Really Cute But Still Needs Work
Really cute and fun but a little glitchy and there aren’t enough users yet to make use of the online play. Maybe there are in a larger city but where I am now there are never any players on. The AI games are fun though and good practice for when I go to play the real game with some friends that have it. I will say that I think it’s too expensive for what you get, especially since they don’t have many users yet so there really is no online play.

Great but no async games
I enjoy this game much more than I thought I would as usual from Direwolf it’s a top notch digital implementation. However there is no async mode in multiplayer. I’m a busy person, but I love to play board games, but to get the most out of them I need an async mode.
Every other Direwolf game I own has this feature.
This is disappointing as it means I don’t play this game as much as I would like, so I’ve dropped a star off my review.

Where’s the local play for 2 of more players?
I would like to be able to have pass and play (local play) for 2 or more players in a standard game. The family game is boring and not needed. I don’t play on line against other people, but the option is nice for those that do. Other than these two things, the app looks and plays very much like the physical board game.

No asynchronous play
Was very excited to get this only to find out that there’s no asynchronous play online. I get the game has simultaneous moments of play but I hope it’s something that’s added.
Can’t finish a single round
Why this game shipped without a turn based “ad hoc” mode is beyond me. Cascadia’s works amazingly. My wife and I can’t even finish one round because it keeps disconnecting us. Insanity.
No local pass and play
They built a pass and play mode for family but not for the ‘local’/main competitive version of play. Feels like a cash grab that my wife and I both have to pay $9.99 to play together on separate devices even though we’re sitting right next to each other.

Hello, we're sorry you felt let down by the mode availability. The reason we opted not to include Pass and Play for the regular game is because of the simultaneous nature of the card drafting phase. That being said, we're always keeping an eye on player feedback, and we will pass your comments along to the team!
Great conversion - Server disconnects often
A pretty great conversion of the board game for iPad. Sadly however 60% of the time we play the server will kick us out at the scoring phase and I can’t complete the Challenges or see how we scored against friends in games. Hoping this is a teething bug.
Good But Not Perfect
So glad this app exists. However, the solo scoring doesn’t work. And, the number of remaining fish not being visible when saving cats is cognitively burdensome.

wie gewohnt von dire wolf: kkasse , liebevolle digitale umsetzung des brettspiels: würde so gerne 5 sterne geben: ABER trotz appbeschreibung : es gibt keine deutsche version:!da das spiel viele karten mit text hat: ist es für englisch unkundige fast nicht spielbar! hab dire wolf kontaktiert: sie geben keine gewähr dass eine deutsche version kommt: warum entfernen sie dann nicht die deutsche version in der appbeschreibung?

Wish I could see baskets and fish when I’m rescuing, but this is a great implementation of a favorite board game . Thanks!

Im Menü kann man nur englisch auswählen obwohl 4 Sprachen + vorhanden sein sollen

Enjoying family mode against AI when I can’t get my family to play the board game with me.

…but there’s no way to see how many fish you have left during gameplay. What?!? I’m always using that information! Please fix this!
I’d wait to purchase
Currently, I believe this game has too many bugs and connection issues to be worth purchasing. I’ve had multiple instances of cards getting stuck on screen, blocking gameplay. Entire games with real players are being disconnected/ended with no completion or warning. This game does not do asynchronous play. Plenty of other great games on the App Store that I’d recommend before this one.
