Jackson Sun

The E edition on the app is very user friendly, best way to read the paper.

My favorite thing to do when I wake up.

I really enjoy the format and the choice of fonts, and other editing functions. I print the crossword muzzle and words each every day and we really look forward to doing the puzzles together. Also, like the option of sharing articles. Well worth the monthly charge. Saving trees.

Convenient

I like seeing the regular paper format and then able to click and read it and a digital format more easily. I do miss feeling the paper in my hands. But I like that I can share it with my father if he’s ever chooses to use it. Welcome to the digital age I guess.

Unexpected problems

Software flaws sometimes truncate the sides of pages, usually in an entire section at a time. The new tools to move from page to page often disappear and have to be urged to return at the risk of opening an article that was not intended. Some articles, when clicked on, are garbled and difficult to read.

I miss markup for puzzles

PLEASE bring back the ability to use “markup” so I can do the crossword and Sudoku puzzles when I don’t have a hard copy available (camping, etc.).

Would give a five star except

The app makes it very easy to read - can increase size of fonts, easily move from one section to another, or can read a story individually without having to scroll through sections.
One problem constantly seen is overlapping of pages in last sections of paper. While I’ve reported this a couple of times no one seems to fix it.

Suggestions

The Jackson Sun should hire more reporters so we can receive more local news in both Jackson and surrounding counties. Not too long ago the paper had reporters specializing in government, business, surrounding counties, sports, leisure, etc. filling the paper with USA Today news is no substitute for comprehensive local new.I also suggest that the editorial page include letters to the editor from the general public.
