Login is bugged
Can’t login into the app, just pushes me to a browser when I try to login.
No dark mode?
Dated and clunky. No dark mode makes it hard to use.
Fantastic publication app to mobile redirect inconsistency
The writing and articles and topics are amazing and for a Canadian it puts things in one more light which is great.
However the app has decline and any link or article you click takes you to the website / mobile version meaning this app is DOE.

Privacy Issues with Japan Times App
I have been a premium subscriber for years.
This app has major problems:
1. The Japan Times app uses a massive amount of data.
2. The Japan Times app shares your data with over 150 different domains. Your data is being widely shared, in other words. Check out the App Privacy Report under Settings for details. As a result, other apps keep showing me ads related to articles that I read in the Japan Times app.
3. The app often doesn’t recognize that you have a premium subscription, so you can’t read the full article anyway.

Can’t sign in
I am incapable of signing in because any time I try it says that I have to fill out the Captcha, but when I scroll down to do so, it just says “Please upgrade to a supported browser to get a reCAPTCHA challenge” and when i sign in with google it redirects me to the browser and then signs in there and when I go back into the app I’m still signed out, this is extremely annoying.

2024年8月のアップデート後にiPhoneで文章の「選択」ができなくなりました
英語学習のためにこのアプリを使わせて頂いていますが、「選択」ができないと少し不便なので、可能であれば修正を検討頂けますと幸いです。 なお、ブラウザでの閲覧だと問題なく「選択」できますので当面はこの閲覧方法で回避しようとは思います ところで、UIは個人的には前の方が良かったです(スクロール量が少なく視覚的/直観的なUIが好きです)
Unable to login.
The login button is greyed out so I can’t access subscriber content. Have uninstalled multiple times. Support is hard to find so posting here.

App won't launch
I've been using this app for a few years and just yesterday, it stopped launching. When I tap on the icon, it shows a splash screen briefly and just shuts down without showing any content.
Luckily, there's the rapper edition, but I prefer the app. Hope this gets fixed soon.

Crashes constantly
App crashes constantly, and today to the point of being unusable, as it crashed right after opening it.
Keeps on crashing
App keeps on crashing upon opening. Please look into this asap or its a waste to pay for this subscription.

一つ前の画面に戻れない操作が多すぎる。英文の構造は不必要に複雑にしたがるわりにアプリは単純な作りのようだ。はっきり言って詐欺的な作りに感じた。

テキストの選択とUIについて
私も一つ前のレビューのかたと全く同じ意見になりますが、英語学習でとても重宝して使用しておりました。ただし、テキストが選択できなくなってしまったため、ブラウザ版で使用しておりますがやはりできればアプリで見たいなと思っています。またUIについて、以前の方がカテゴリーなど見やすかったなという印象です。
It doesn’t load contents at all
Since the version up about a few weeks ago, it takes too long to load contents. Now it doesn’t load at all. Please help fix it!

しかしタイトルそのままの事象に困り始めました。英語学習目的で購読しています。辞書機能が使えないのは致命的です。どなたかご指摘されていますが文字選択ができないことによる派生事象と思われます。
