Taxes: Every Ruler's Dream The King & The Crown features a taxation system that one can only dream of in real life. You decide for yourself when to press the Set the tax level button and what percentage to take for the treasury. Gold flows in constantly, but there is a catch: the higher the taxes, the more dissatisfied the population becomes. If you crank taxes to the maximum, the treasury will fill up quickly, but the angry people will start to ruin the overall income statistics. An ideal balance: that is the key to a long reign. And if the situation becomes critical, use the happiness freeze bonus. While the timer is active, you will be able to collect gold, and your subjects will smile, even if you take their last penny. Please do not use this function too often! State Affairs The map is flooded with requests: you can accept a request or decline it. Solve a problem with the harvest, deliver supplies or improve the city's defenses. Sometimes there will be a catastrophic lack of money, and you will have to choose whom to refuse. Remember: every ‘Yes’ or ‘No’ instantly changes the amount of money in the treasury and the mood of the people.
