About
The Last Ember is a quiet, melancholic story about a small flame walking through a dying volcano.
You are the final warm thing in a cooling world. Every step you take costs heat. Every choice you make stays with you, shaping the colour of your own light.
Along the way you will meet other embers. Some are asking for warmth. Some are offering it. Some are too far gone to want either. You can feed them, take from them, listen, or simply walk past. None of these choices are right or wrong. The mountain remembers all of them.
You will also meet those who can no longer hear voices. For them you draw signs in the smoke with your fingertip - a spiral, a triangle, a broken circle, a name. The signs you seal become part of who you are for the rest of the journey.
Six chapters. Eight signs. Four endings, one of them only the patient will find. A story that takes about an hour the first time, and quietly waits for you to come back the next evening.
There is also a small place called The Hearth, where you can keep a photo of any warm light from your own day. A candle, a sunset, a window at evening. One of them can sit softly behind your screen, walking the descent with you.
The Last Ember is for slow evenings, for tea that is getting cold, for the kind of mood a small fire would understand.
