Technically never works
The app always has bugs in it so you cannot use it. I am not paying for it, so I can only assume it is a tactic used to make people so frustrated with the free version that they pay and the bugs will disappear.
Today the bug is that the cookie acceptance or reject pop up continuously appears if you click on reject all.

Sanitized news and editorials
Too many incidences of leftist influence on how articles are published when cross-checked over an array of other sources. They also sanitize and will refuse to publish comments that might offend someone simply because the viewpoint doesn’t toe the line with Editorial staff’s world view. Not a very mature publication.

App completely broken after update 2.95
Since updating to version 2.95, The Local freezes after just a few seconds and is now completely unusable. This needs an urgent fix, as the app simply no longer works.
Cookies Broken
I like the news, but this app keeps asking me to accept the cookies, like every 5 seconds even if I accept them. Makes the app unusable. Very frustrating.

As at April 26 cookies questions are very annoying
This app is normally a news lifeline for me but recently it constantly asks me to accept cookies. I always say Reject All, for all situations not just this app, but then 10 seconds later it asks again, then again, and again. Makes reading articles very difficult.

Don’t trust the app
Fraud app. I’ve bought a subscription but received no access whatsoever. The premise was good though. But no matter how I try to login – via Apple account or other ways – by paid subscription is not working. Sad bad fraud.

Data in the wrong forme, pressing account goes to news not account etc etc. Not worth my subscription
Very informative
While I learn the languages in University, this app keeps me informed in my native tongue of the news in countries I have, or will study abroad in.
What happened?!
App worked fine for years. Now when I open the app, it closes within seconds. De/re- installed did nothing. You all got me this year, will not be continuing subscription after this.

the local is an excellent source of news from all over Europe. Becoming a member opens up many new articles and viewpoints. It can be twitchy to navigate but it gives you a different perspective from both a tourists viewpoint and also political understanding.

Instructions to deactivate subscription are WRONG and totally inaccurate. Stories are sensational and full of inaccuracy. Total rag
