Quality journalism and interesting coverage
I’ve appreciated the Star Tribune in its many forms, and I can say the digital version continues to improve, and I enjoy it. Good quality journalism underpins it all, and while I may not always agree with editorial perspectives I appreciate that MN still has a news source like the MN Star Tribune.

Non-Existent Informational Value
Kinda had it with the Star Tribune after decades of putting up with bias and marginal reporting. My wife agrees. The paper is now a pamphlet, no doubt due to its only printing of positive things on the left and negative things about the right. The amount of either is down to a trickle. You could easily double the size of your paper if you just printed the data, the info, the dates and times and just what happened. No paraphrases, no chopped clips, no cherry picking of items from a long speech to manufacture a “gotcha”. Full quotes! And a link to the complete speech or video! About once in every 3 to 6 months I actually read something interesting, new, thought provoking and relevant. Andy Brehm is usually the author. We need new unbiased information to inform us. We need clarity on the issues, not just the woke view. See Dennis Prager for help on the clarity issue. We the electorate need to understand the issues clearly so we can make informed choices when we vote. At this point in time, the Star Tribune is not a serious contributor. You have degraded this paper into just another left wing squawk box in a sea of left wing squawk boxes.

Why does this app still have ads when I pay for a subscription?!
I want to pay for this service so I can read the journalism, not ads for BS online gambling. This sucks.
Good info, poor app
The reporting and stories are generally excellent. But paying subscribers frequently hit the site’s paywall when clicking on feature stories. It’s a long-standing bug and it’s unacceptable for a news app in 2026.

But this app is junk. On about half the stories it links to pages that look to be taking you to a generic web browser. And—about half of those—require you to log in again… even though you’re already in the app. And—once you click to log in….. nothing.
I’ve written to them and basically, they refuse to fix it.
The STrib is a great paper. Skip this app, buy a subscription to the e-edition and read it in your browser.

I can never seem to access a copy of the printed version which I prefer
Still a few glitches….
This app continues to have issues with the ability of paid subscribers to read all of the Strib’s articles. At least once a week I will try to read a news item, only to be told that I must be a subscriber in order to view it. I already am. For twenty-five bucks a month, I expect better. Please fix this.

The app is terrible and not user friendly. Even after a call to customer service I can’t access my subscription reliably
Left wing rag
I used to deliver this as a young boy in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s and it’s shock at how it now scraping the bottom of the barrel. It’s a continual barrage of left wing propaganda. Wake up and report the news and not hit pieces.
Sports search
It’s impossible to filter the sports section by team.
E edition login is broken
February 2026 and this comment from last month and 8 months ago is STILL accurate: The app constantly “forgets” that I have a subscription. Does anyone at the Strib monitor the comments to see how frustrating it is for subscribers.
No steady wifi, no news.
This app is horrendous for any sort of offline use. Want to read the paper on a flight with no wifi? Sorry. Of course, why don’t you just download the eEdition? As soon as your screen is turned off decide to open another app, it’ll delete. Swap to another app while reading an article? No worries, The Star Tribune app will restart. Fun to navigate to your last article! Reading with reliable wifi? Some articles choose to open in an embedded browser requiring one to enter log in info each time. It’s like the developers don’t even use their own app.

App not recognizing subscription
We have a subscription to the Strib but the app does not recognize it and nothing we do will fix it.
Need a gift link added to app
App is solid, but it needs a gift the article type of link to be added for article being viewed within the app itself.

I so appreciate your complete coverage of the events in Minneapolis. While we live about 45 minutes west, the metro area is our home. Your coverage has been superb!
Strong reporting helping save our democracy
While, I'm not from Minnesota and live across the country, I truly appreciate the reporters and editors, helping us understand what's happening through in-depth and factual reporting. They have earned my subscription and I hope you also will support quality journalism to help pattern. The false narrative at the Trump administration is putting out.

Where is the Weather?
This app is a lot better than it used to be. But where is the Weather? Even before and during a major weather event, you have to go through the search function and use language from other news sources to find any reporting on the current event, and often nothing shows up or only old stuff. Why isn’t there a Section called WEATHER? Even if it only has one article a day in it, at least you could find it, and it would be current. Dumb.
