Long time reader. This news paper is very informative very up to dates. Photos of the past are a great trip to the past, we have enjoyed this paper for many years and look forward to its delivery every week

News

Love how I can read the regular paper slowly scanning and then click the article and it takes me to the larger version. Not too happy with all the spelling errors and punctuation. But it is what it is.

Irritating at best.

I’ve subscribed to the Patriot Ledger for close to 50 years. The national coverage is unimportant; it’s the local news that keeps me paying. Although this has pretty much reached a low point, it still fills a big void south of Boston.

So, it’s not the content that makes this app so bad. It’s the app itself. These are my major gripes:

1. Pop up ads. Paying customers should not have to deal with these. Make the companies buy space in the publication rather than get in the faces of people who have paid money for the app.

2. Poor navigation. Sizing and page selection work poorly.

3. Device support. My older iPad fails to load the paper about once per week. I am forced to uninstall the app and reinstall. I occasionally get a message that there’s a newer version but it is not supported on my device. This should be their problem, not mine.

4. Non-intuitive functions. Example : I still can’t figure out how to retrieve back issues.

There’s a lot more than this but I’ve said enough.

Trouble

Online paper isn’t good.

The online version freezes frequently when the blue arrows are tapped to go to a new page. You have to shutdown and reopen to continue to a new page. Frustrating and time consuming!,

Great paper

Small paper but great stories

Paid subscription with ads?????

I was recently forced to get the new version of The Patriot Ledger last week. I have a paid subscription. First, I couldn’t sign in but that mysteriously fixed itself. Now that I can see the newspaper, ads keep popping up. I don’t see any way to turn them off. This is disappointing.

Great local paper

I grew up reading the Patriot Ledger. The only resource I have for local news. I pay for a digital subscription but I still get pop up ads? USA Today is nice bonus.

App is no good

Works on Iphone not on iPad ( says wrong password)

Great local newspaper

We enjoy reading online when in FL for the winter.

Love the HS Sports!

Great job!

Local news A great source!

Keep in touch with the local community

App does not work

Every time I open it, it shows my name, shows I’m logged in and then when I try to open a story, it asks me to log in again. Very frustrating.
***tried to submit review and it said my name was already taken- again, can’t decide if I’m in or out.

Subscription doesn’t work

I am paying for the subscription and I can’t get in. I have written in and haven’t heard back. It directs me to restore my purchase but then it tells me that I can’t. Frustrated.

Great local paper

The Patriot Ledger has great writers, covers local events and covers all the news on the South Shore!
