What's New in The Periodic Table Project

1.3

October 5, 2017

This app has been updated by Apple to display the Apple Watch app icon. The Periodic Table Project is now up-to-date with four newly-named elements, nihonium (Nh), moscovium (Mc), tennessine (Ts) and oganesson (Og). The University of Waterloo Department of Chemistry had a high school student contest to design tiles for these elements. With 200 submissions and thousands of online votes, these four beautiful tile designs have now been added for a complete representation of all the elements.

most inappropriate fan art ever

Fan art has its uses. Like the card game Bohnanza - how cool is that fan art version with all the different drawings of the beans? But this is a periodic table... with fan art for each element. Yes. Really. Fan art COULD have enhanced a periodic table by, say, when you tap on a particular element, it brings up all the info for the element along with a drawing of its discovery or something else associated with the element that will help you remember and understand it. Instead, the whole table is covered with little hideous thumbnails of bad fan art instead of the atomic symbols, and the fan art is junk like the atomic symbol done with pipe cleaners. Who thought this was a good idea?!
