New app is junk

The new press-enterprise app on my iPhone os26.4 is ok if you use the article by type list but the curated newspaper layout version which I prefer is junk. About half of the words are run together with no spaces. The lines split into paragraphs at random places. Header lines are not always at the correct font size. The Next and Previous buttons are missing. The “improved “ method is to swipe left or right but only works if you pinch the screen to get the article positioned to make the software happy.

I will continue to use the previous version until it stops working.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback on the eNewspaper within The Press Enterprise app. We are preparing updates to this feature that will be released in the coming months that we believe will provide improvements to the reader experience. Subscribers will be notified of these changes when they are released.

Cannot log into my account.

Whenever I try to log into my account using the app it sends me to NPUSER login page but then says: “your account, oops something went wrong.”

Meh

Another hate trump rag

Smh 🤦🏽‍♂️

$15 a month yea right (Uninstalled instantly) get it together…. 🤧

Meh…

It barely had local news before and now I need a subscription to see the little I saw before. I’m disappointed and will use the Apple News app for local news from now on.

Expensive … not worth it

Why would I spend $15 a month for news I can get for free?

Now $15 a month

I get why certain news outlets are starting to charge for access considering all the issues their dealing with but $15 a month seems a bit much. I might as well get the subscription for the Sunday paper and get coupons for the same amount. Sure I wouldn’t get the daily news but at least I’m getting some money savings if you know what I mean.

Limited Local News

The latest update to this app added a subscription requirement. $15 a month for local news seems a little much. My review makes a total of 3 reviews for this app and it has 1 star. So their best idea is to charge $15 a month?

Was lame before and now useless

Horrible reporting for local
News and now you have to make a ‘dig deeper’ account to read?! FOH

Pop ups all the time

Subscribe to the press enterprise newspaper, still getting multiple pop ups per story. Is this any way to treating paying customers? It is like a punishment for using their service!

App is not reliable

This app is a good idea but a bad implementation of what a news application should provide, i.e. access to news. The organization needs to take a serious look at the quality of services they provide their mobile customers.

Ok app, UI could use work.

On the iPhone XS the menu button is too close to the top left corner, making it difficult to press and not back to an if it is displayed in the top left corner. Also a bug where you open up the collapsible menu, it restarts the app.

Seems fine to me

Been seeing these reviews . The app is works totally fine for me .

Bad app

It crashes every time I try to open it. Waste of time.

Where is the Settings feature??

There is no menu option for settings, and iPhone settings/notifications does not list this app for customizing alerts... horrible

Frustrating app!

"Download the new App" seems to be the welcome screen. To make it even more frustrating, that is the only option for any action on the app.
I can search & find more content by opening PE in a search engine so this app is soon to be removed from my phone.

Lame

If you want current local news about anything happening in Riverside County, you're better off looking at Facebook. This updated version of the Press Enterprise app offers nothing in the way of breaking local news. However, if you are dying to read a two-day old top story about Charlie, a cocker spaniel available for adoption in Redlands, this is the place to visit (nothing against Charlie, hope he finds a home soon!)

It's a hot mess

Hard to navigate, no option for local city news and no ability to see local street traffic like before. Very disappointed.

Meh ??? Hopefully it will improve

Too bad we can't give ratings of less than one star.

Right now it's an O.K. app ?? It can only get better? Right?

Really bad

If it ain't broke, don't fix it! Well...it's definitely broke now
