Still have a paper!
Enjoy having a daily paper in both print and digital. Local news is too important.
This is the old review. Now reading only the Lede. The Lede has REALLY gotten much better this last year. The variety is great with the extensive coverage of local, national and international news.
HIGHLY recommend the Lede

Great evolution of E-edition for print readers
Love the return of a daily news product, great content and pretty good design.
Better than the Press- Register
I think there’s more news in here. Pretty good. I’m a fan of John Sharp’s reporting. Glad to see it in here. Raiser to read in this format.
App downloads
This is about the new app for the Mobile Lede. Downloading the daily paper is unsuccessful at least 50% of the time. The new format takes a little effort to get used to. I can live with that but not being able to read the paper daily is a major fail. I hope I can come back stating they have fixed the problem. As it is now it is much easier to get the news elsewhere. I try to support local papers but there has to be a product to buy otherwise it is charity.

Doesn’t download full resolution
Reads fine when I’m connected to Wi-Fi, but does not download full resolution of the newspaper while I’m connected (in the terminal), making me unable to finish reading the paper when I’m disconnected (on the plane).

Mobile Press-Register
It is enjoyable to get the online news on no print days.
Waste of time
I used to like the app but the “local” news is few and far between. And it is usually several days old. If it was just the digital paper, then it would be good. This app is entitled Press Register which implies Mobile. Not so. Mostly other parts of the state and old stories, as I have already said. Too bad I cannot rate it below 1-star.

Terrible App
We have tried numerous times to read our Paper on our IPad. Trying to get someone in customer service is a joke. Not only do you have to call numerous times you get three different answers when you get them. You do not deserve one star.
Frustratingly poor
One can not scroll down all the way to read an entire article. Many time the last half of articles are unable to be viewed. News is somewhat poor as well. Not a highlight for the state of Alabama.
Terrible Customer support
This app renewed last month, and for some reason, it requires a new password to open the app. The app won't send a new password to the registered email (what dumbo forgot to put that into the program?). The customer support refuses to help me and required me to fax PROOF that I paid the $60 for six months. I did so, but their customer support is "radio silent". Caveat emptor with this app.

Soooooo Poorly Done
I was really excited about being able to read my local paper on my iPad but this app makes me want to sling it across the room!
I subscribed, for a week and paid using iTunes yet whenever I open the app it asks me to subscribe! It did this five minutes after subscribing and is still doing it! My other option is signing in with some unknown User ID that isn't my iTunes user ID and there's no "make a user ID" button, no help button, no explanation, nothing!

Works fine
Once you get the application properly installed, and once you are able to log in OK, the application works fine. It's unlike other newspaper or magazine applications in that it gives you a visual "picture" of the printed newspaper. From the pages of the newspaper, you can select individual articles, comics, even ads. It's not as easy to use as USA Today, for example, but it is a good substitute for the local "paper" newspaper. If you want the Mobile Press-Register and would like to stay green, it's a good substitute.
