Everything requires a purchase

Not clear what this app does

This app doesn’t seem to do anything other than show random letters and ask you to pay.

Be prepared to pay!

App uploads for free but you cannot hear anything unless you pay. All features are disabled unless you pay,

This app doesn’t close to nothing

Well at least with out purchasing features in app. If you are looking for free help, looks elsewhere.

Doesn’t work anymore

App haven’t worked since last iOS update??

Doesn’t Cover All Scales

Pretty good app, used it happily for around a month until I discovered that because it is including enharmonie scales (i.e. B and Cb) it doesn’t actually go through all the scales in a single cycle. There is almost always one scale that gets missed and one that gets doubled.

Purchase doesn’t work

Lots of useful settings but I bought the drone/metronome pack and they don’t work.

Needs work

Don’t know what exam board this is aimed at but it is lacking options like staccato/legato, scales in thirds/sixths, arpeggios etc.

Also having used it for less than 24 hours I’ve already noticed several bugs. Eg.

1. It ignores individual scales preferences for whole tone scales.
2. If you turn off melodic minor, leaving only major and harmonic, then it puts up a rude message calling me a jerk (no, seriously) when I try to edit individual scales options. 3. It also then only ever gives four flash cards in a cycle, until I re-enable the melodic.

The above shortcomings really do spoil an otherwise promising app.

One of the best practice tools to hit the market!

This app is an incredibly diverse and effective tool for practicing scales. The new features have taken it to a whole new level. I recommend this app to every single one of my students, from beginners to college level music majors. It is also particularly useful as a tool during lessons to help test students on their scales. With the addition of the built-in drone and metronome, this app has now become a staple in my own warm up routine, shaving time off time in my scale practice and making drone work much easier! Be sure your phone is not set to silent/vibrate when using drone/metronome.

It’s a random list generator

That’s all

Could use more cowbell

I love that the app allows randomization of scales; I also love that it’s not a ton of index cards that are very easy to lose or ruin. The selection tools also let me cycle through just the ones that are giving me trouble as well; great app all around for musicians!

Great

Awesome app, great features.

One of the highlights of my practice time!

This app has changed the way that I look at practicing scales. I used to have a really difficult time and always dreaded my practice. I would also get into the habit of just playing them in order, which is never now they were expected to be performed in my juries. Carson’s app makes scales a challenging and exciting part of practice time! I will definitely be having my students use this app!

Is what it is, ignore other reviews.
Needs facilities to add you own variables.
Articulation such as slurred, legato, staccato, tenuto.
In 3rds, 4ths,
Dotted, reverse dotted.
Whole tone, chromatic, diminished.
Plus facility for arpeggios

I love it!, BUT

I would love to see you add (Church) Modes into the mix. This app has helped me master the scales it provides by using for practice for at Least 30 minutes a day. If modes were added, that would be INCREDIBLE. Please, oh please make this happen.

A joke

Waste of space

Deleted it within 5 mins

I don't understand how this works. I was hoping to listen to the scales but could only get a screen that said the name of the scale

Useless

This app is useless

I loooooove Carson Greene

I want to marry Carson Greene. I suppose I would settle for one passionate night with him, though, if the opportunity presented itself. The desire burns in my loins with an intense fierceness. I know where he lives. I live close to him. I can't stop fantasizing. App developers are so hot.

Simple

Awesome app! It's simple and to the point. It's just what a musician needs to practice scales. By the way, Scott says hi.
