This app allows advertisers to post fake warnings about fake viruses that are “definitely on your device“ and then require you to download the fake virus protection app before you can move on. I am surprised that Apple allows this app in the store. if you use this app, be sure to quit when you get that warning rather than hit the download button

Crap App
Why am I paying you money to be subjected to so many ads? Worse still the ads have nothing to do with me and you can’t skip them until a certain time has passed, and then to make matters worse you need to hunt for the X button to close the crap ad. I am unsubscribing from this pitiful excuse of an app.

The Star used to be my favourite newspaper since young. Been using this app for few years now. This iapp is full of ads. Avoid at all cosr unless you like reading adverts.
Advertisement assault
The advertisements are so aggressive that it makes completely unusable. Will switch to the website.
Becoming a tabloid
Rubbish app. Non stop popping up ads. Will not renew subscription. The news portal is turning into an advertising platform for people to browse ads more than to read news.
annoying ads but paying subscriber
with their last version update a week ago, full page ads frequently pop up on my screen. i have to wait 5 seconds to turn it off.
If this was free then i wouldn’t complain, but I having been a paying subscriber for a few months now and this is absolutely not acceptable.
I am deeply disappointed and I will NOT be renewing my monthly subscription.

EXTREMELY battery consuming in the background
I noticed my iphone 11 has been charging more frequently than before. when i checked on the Battery in Settings, it baffles me.
It says, 1 hour 10 mins on screen, 14 h 8 m background!!!!!! By the way, i already turned off the background app refresh feature on my iphone. but wow. and i can’t even do anything about this as there isn’t a data saver mode or sort.
first, Star asked us to create an account and sign in to get full access. after readers complied, they strategically start asking for subscription fees. it’s alright. in fact i was ready to pay to show support to malaysia journalists.
however, Star. YOU REALLY NEED TO UPGRADE YOUR APP FOR PRESERVING THE PHONE BATTERY. 14 hours background activity versus one hour on screen is just ridiculous.

Please stop from forcing user to update. Every update has made the experience gone downhill. And now with the latest update you’re forcing user to “subscribe” while still injecting ads into your app. This is ridiculous. And by the way, the so called “Breaking News” alert is super annoying, it alerts news that’s not even breaking at all!

Useless App
App continuously asks for you to enter username and password. If I try to use same username that I use for e-newspaper, it says account is already in use. If I try to sign in, using this account, it says username/password is incorrect. Worthless app. Wish I could rate 0 stars.
Does not work
No longer works on iPhone 11 Pro and iOS 13!
It’s a mass
Deleted all bookmarks instantly and doesn’t sync with the iPad app. It even crushed on my iPhone XR! Need to fix it asap

App not working anymore
As of today I don’t think the app is working anymore. It closes down every time I open it.
