We introduce THE THEORY MARKET – a fast and fun way to express your opinions about a scientific theory and to predict hypothesis results, by indicating your reservation prices in various markets.
In this app, you pay everything in “Bayescoins”. This is not a crypto-currencies (yet), but a unit we invented to measure your expertise in the app. The better you are at predicting which hypothesis will be supported in a study or which theory to trust, the more Bayescoins you will earn. Your score is your wealth in Bayescoins.
We are glad to introduce you to two, very special, traders on our markets: the monkey and the sloth. The monkey is very energetic but all over the place, changing reservation prices every day but completely randomly. The sloth has better things to do (like, sleeping), and keeps all reservation prices to the default value of 50. Are you performing better than the monkey and the sloth? Check it on the scoreboard!
