Excellent ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a fantastic puzzle game! A simple start gradually advancing in difficulty as you progress with great tutorials to explain mechanics. I’m loving this game and don’t seem to have any blaring sounds like another reviewer suggested only lovely background music that works well. This game reminds me of another favourite of mine called Stuffo both are criminally underrated. Don’t hesitate to get this gem and support this talented developer it is well worth the teeny tiny price! Very cool, clever and original design.

Decent puzzler but…

…even with sound turned off the BLARING company logo sounds with each new load, and then the game sound has to be turned off again. Irksome bug!

This game is incredible and I love the the puzzles the everything I love it so much and I am an puzzle geek myself and this I approve 1,000,000%. It is the best thing ever best game that I’ve played. It is worth it and it is long challenging hard levels and for an annual release game. I haven’t experienced any bugs myself and a huge thank you for developing this game.

Great game

Beautifully designed, engaging story and a good brain challenge.

A beautiful minimalist puzzle adventure

I highly recommend giving this game a try if you enjoy puzzles that make you feel accomplished after completing. It has a story behind the architecture sets and is sort of like an architectural magazine filled with beautiful pieces and puzzles while it tells the story of Liz.

The game is made by a single dev who worked on this game for a few years and you can tell the heart and design choices in the game reflect the devs ideas. Other than that here’s a quick rating.

Story: It’s light and easy to understand. Fully voiced.

Atmosphere: The art-style carries each page you enter and the puzzles get more challenging as you progress.

Gameplay: From others have said is the “tutorial is too difficult” but I think it’s actually quite easy to understand. If you enjoy puzzles then you can figure it out. I’d say the dev already has fixed that issue and I passed the tutorial within 10-15 minutes.

Overall I find this to be a little treasure of a game and I’ll remember it fondly. I suggest giving it a try!

Unique

Fabulous, unique, and challenging puzzle game. Have only encountered one issue so far where the resolution resets itself to a lower level, however a restart of the app corrects it. Great game, don’t miss this one.

Happy you are enjoying! Thanks for the review!

An awesome experience

As someone who typically struggles with puzzle games, I naturally struggled a bit with this one. The difference with The Valley of the Architects and other strategy oriented mobile games, is that in this case my struggle only made the process more enjoyable. Instead of tossing my phone away in frustration, I found myself leaning in even closer to the screen, gripping my case tightly. That feeling when everything starts to come together, and you see your hard work payoff, is well worth a bit of wait. In addition to an exhilarating and unusual puzzle system, The Valley of the Architects also pulled me along with its captivating mystery, which progresses with each level the player completes.

The Valley of the Architects

The concept of the game is well-thought-out and original, but there are many execution issues. The writing is spelled out in jumbled, typo-ridden English. There are ten stages a “level,” in addition to multiple tutorials, and progress is not saved at any point in the chapter. The graphics are fuzzy and glitchy. With an additional year spent developing this game, it could have been excellent, but at present, it reads as a prototype.

Response from developer

Hello and thank you for the review. A couple things to note: -If graphics are fuzzy please ensure the HD option is on, otherwise you are playing in a lower resolution (this is a performance option for older devices). Also Temporal Anti-Aliasing has a slight blurring effect. Try turning it off and using standard Anti-Aliasing if that’s to your preference. -Progress is saved. When you return to the last level you were on, it will load the last trial you were playing. This action does not happen in the tutorial levels though, this may be your issue. However, you can also manually choose any trial within the level by tapping the menu button and choosing the trial selector. Try it out Feel free to email support@whaleo.com if you have any further questions. Thanks

How does this game work?

I’ve never played a game where I have no idea how it even works. The “tutorial” is horrible.

Response from developer

Sorry to hear that. Send a message to support@whaleo.com and we can get you sorted out!

iPad runs hot

Great puzzle game but iPad runs hot!

Response from developer

Thanks for playing. You can try turning off some options like Ambient Occlusion or Anti Aliasing. You can also run at lower resolution by switching off HD or lower resolution shadows.
