THE WALK Audio Installation

THE WALK is a location-based audio installation. As you walk the route, the app uses your GPS location - your movement dynamically mixes the music and triggers the stories. It’s a way of re-creating the subjective experience of taking a walk and letting your mind wander as the landscape around you shifts and evolves and reacts to your presence. Inspired by and originally designed for Abbott Kinney, The Walk is a fan letter to my neighborhood here in Venice. In order to share the work more broadly, it has been adapted to multiple locations, including Mexico City and Richmond, Virginia, with more in the works. There’s a lot of great places to take a walk.
