What's New in The Whole Horn

1.4

August 12, 2026

The first overtone — fundamental to the octave — is now free to try on every instrument. Thirty of the written lessons can now be listened to, read aloud, including the instrument-specific quarter-tone notes and both satellite apps. Three minor scales — natural, harmonic and melodic — each rooted on the key you choose. A new lesson, "The first week", on posture, hand position and embouchure. Maqam Rast is now free, so you can hear what a quarter tone actually is before deciding anything. Play is now available inside the Setup and Sound panels, so you can hear a change without leaving them. A number of display fixes: a panel that could cover the one beneath it, note names shown twice on octave-transposing instruments, several controls whose text was being cut off, and the section heading now always matches what is actually loaded.
