What's New in TheBridge APPS

2.2.0

July 31, 2026

TheBridge is now on CarPlay! Plug in your phone and see live bridge status right on your car's screen. Pin your bridge for a full-size view, check when each bridge last opened, and browse today's weather, tides, and local events without touching your phone. Bridge alerts can now appear on your CarPlay display too, so you'll know the gates are down before you're stuck staring at them. Also in this update: • Faster, more reliable bridge status updates • All Clear updates are now silent, so your phone only buzzes when a bridge actually opens • Bug fixes and performance improvements

Would be awesome

This app has been great except for the fact I get an incredible amount of notifications about who it’s sponsored by which is a roofing company apparently. If that didn’t pop up so frequently then this would be great but it looks like I’m going to have to get rid of it. I don’t have any other app that sends me notifications about who it’s sponsored by and I don’t have one app I pay for. It would be fine if it wasn’t constantly popping up. Before I get rid of this I’m going to count how many times in a 24 hour period I get that notification.

Response from developer

Good news: the sponsor line is gone as of today. Your alerts are back to plain bridge status. Fair warning though, the count probably won't change much. You only get a notification when the bridge actually opens, and Woods opened about 5 times a day last week. I'd take that up with the boats, but they don't answer email. Thanks for the feedback, it's the reason it got fixed. Anything else driving you nuts, reach me at bftbridgeapp@gmail.com.

Just…wow!!

This is the app I’ve dreamed about for years. Seriously, about 10 years ago I said to my wife that it’d be amazing having notifications on your phone when the bridge turns

So…to the developers, THANK YOU!!! This is a HUGE add for our area!!!

Response from developer

Great minds think alike! Thanks so much for the review!

The bridge app

So glad to have this to alert me to bridge openings!

Saved me already

Amazing app! Notifications are exactly what i needed

A must for your Home Screen!

Have you ever wished you knew if the bridge was open when leaving the house and deciding which way to go? Now you can! This app has been a huge timesaver and the integration of the SCDOT cameras makes the app a “chef’s kiss “. Not to mention the other helpful info also included such as bridge schedule, tide charts, community events. Push notifications work beautifully. This is the must have app if you live in or visiting the Beaufort area. Thank you for creating this amazing app, Alex. I’m grateful to have found this and be one of your beta testers. Well done!
