Whenever I drive my car I won't be notified for like 10-15 mins that their has been movement in my car. By then the car jackers could be cities away from me!
Inaccurate
Sold by the Dealership. And is a useless as Two “R”s in February. Real inaccurate GPS.
App Design is Awful
The app kind of functions okay. It’s a sluggish Cordova app that uses outdated dependencies and they don’t update anything to keep up with the changing device types. Cheaping out on the app that customers use to interface with this product doesn’t make me feel very confident about the purchase decision.

Freezes
App freezes monthly for days, refreshing app doesn’t help. Not sure why they don’t update the app to fix this problem.

Theft Patrol device on new vehicle
Purchased a new car from a major Toyota dealer and the sales person notified me of the theft patrol device that was already installed and just needed activation. I was sold to the idea and activated it. Worked ok for a week or two and died. Called support and was fixed after few days. This device failed too many times, took me almost a year until it was doing ok. You never know when it works or when it doesn’t. Too many false notifications, way too many freezes, fails almost once a month and when I call support it gets fixed for another 2 weeks or so. The device was replaced many times, the location was changed few times. They should change the name because it doesn’t do what its designed to do. CANNOT BE TRUSTED AT ALL. Right now it’s frozen after the last fix that was few days ago! I’m totally fed up, will cancel the so called “protection plan”. Meanwhile I’ve installed another device and it works perfect, had it for almost one year, very accurate and always trusted. Optimus tracking device for $45 from Amazon and annual monitoring fee . Theft Patrol is a good concept when it works. Failed on my a 100 times in 7 years.

I’ve encountered multiple instances where I or my husband move my car because of the street sweeper or run errands and it does not notify when moved

The type of truck I bought so I thought I’d be at eaze. Somehow it never is accurate; it’s always at the wrong location, it alerts me randomly even when my Truck isn’t on or in motion, it doesn’t alert over speed limit.. a waste and the salesman told me it was “forever” come to find out it’s only 3 years, like yeah okay whatever

It doesn’t update
It doesn’t update my car locations. It says i am at my daughters house for the past 4 mths even though we been everywhere. How to fix
Not worth the money
App never works correctly. On multiple occasions it said my car was moving and sent me an alert at random hours of the night I though it was stolen. Hasn’t even reported location for 5 days now.
Would’ve gave it zero stars
The most inaccurate app I have ever used. The location is never current, it says my vehicles last known location is from 2 months ago.
Started off good… not working any more
I purchased this with my car purchase. Initially, it worked great. No issues really and then had a problem with the device syncing with the system. So I called up Theft Patrol customer service and they promptly reset the device, problem solved. Another year goes by and now the device is not registering activity in the car. I’ve sent email and called several times. This last time I finally spoke to someone who couldn’t see an issue on their end and were going to escalate the issue up and run diagnostics. Said they would call me back… but that still hasn’t happened. This issue has been going on since March 2023 and now in July 2023, still without a fix and no responsiveness from Theft Patrol. I would definitely reconsider on customer service alone. If there are no issue with the product, then you will be fine. But tech will always have issues and support will be needed. Spend your money on a different company.

Very bad reliability
The latest issue is that it Dddn’t show anything for my long weekend driving. In the app it looked like my car was parked at home all three days yet I drove dozens of miles to different destinations on each one of three days. When I complained about this previously, the Company said “it is working properly”, but the device is not doing what it is supposed to do as stated on their own website.
I checked reviews for similar devices and they all suffer firm the same issue - poor reliability. My guess would be that their cell network access is deprioritized, so they do not work on certain days and times. Very upsetting that the company can do nothing to get this item to provide the service that they promise on their website.

I have tried reaching out to support multiple times and they do not respond. I’ve tried renewing, it was $29.99 for the year and the app kept crashing now it’s $49.99. Why doesn’t anyone respond?

Ok well so everyone knows it is not free they charged me with the purchase price of my car and didn’t even ask like 2-3,000 extra to give u a clue of what I didn’t ask for the app just doesn’t have good features a horrible plain layout that’s basically uselesa for things u don’t need
Please fix
This app is ridiculous, app only seems to work when it wants. Randomly out of no where this app like to stop running as it should. Tried uninstalling & reinstalled to see if that would fix anything & it did absolutely nothing.
Fix this app
Map never loads. All I see is dots and lines for trips. App is currently garbage and will be canceling service if not fixed soon
Recovered my moms car
My moms car was stolen at night. I relied on this app to find the vehicle and it did. After calling the cops they recovered the car in 25 min. Highly recommend
Next to worthless
Purchased a vehicle with this already fitted. Wouldn’t waste time or money on their service. I can watch my daughter using FindMyFriends and see that she has been on the highway driving for over an hour but apparently according to Theft Patrol the car she is in has been sitting still the entire time. Save your money and get an AirTag and hide it in your car.
