App crashes 100% of the time after subscribing
The tree list bombs out
When you use your current location and choose The Tree List, the app closes. This feature I bought the app for. It would be a great app if that feature worked
The tree app
Seems very comprehensive however it focuses exclusively on South Africa and has no info on neighboring countries such as Namibia where I live or the other which is a pity!

Good app
This app has been very useful to me. I am very grateful to the developers for creating it. Occasionally at certain species there are not photos or illustrations of all the aspects of a tree. Occasionally I would have liked more of the invasive aliens in a natural area like a national park to be included. Also I am not sure why all national parks are not on the app (presumably the developers have not themselves done a list for some parks). Perhaps the developers could ask for volunteers amongst the users to start them off with lists of trees in certain parks. Also, there is a tree list for at least one of the parks I am thinking of on inaturalist. Those are just minor details though. Thanks again!

Disappointing
I was so eager to try out this app but it was very disappointing. The layout and info are good but it was not helpful to me at all in helping to identify trees. The search function results were way off the mark.
It’s good to have but why not show the full tree and not just the leaf
As someone getting into trees and plants this is helpful to hand and the information write up is good but if they had just added a picture of a mature tree it would have been superb app as you could actually see what the tree looks like . Happy to subscribe for the year to play with this app but would be so good if they just added a full picture of the tree

Keeps crashing
I get a positive id no more than 50% of the time and, more annoyingly, the app now crashes on me once all the inputs have been made

Rubbish
Well worth the purchase, especially for growers
I germinate and grow many species of Southern Africa trees and shrubs, especially those with edible fruits and nuts. This application has opened up a whole new world of selection as a grower but also fantastic information for each species. I’m one of those types that finds the limitations of say a Wikipedia when it comes to African languages and African species of flora and fauna. Apps like this more than fill that gap. As a speaker of African languages it’s refreshing to have not only the scientific names, which I depend on, but the Afrikaans names that I love. I cannot say enough good things about this app. I will recommend it to any of those interested in Flora of Southern Africa or for other growers here in my expat community in Florida and the southern USA.

Best tree app
This is by faaaar the best tree app. Its so much easier and faster than the books. And it really works. Other tree apps are useless. Worth the money.

Great, but lacking at the same time
Don't get me wrong, I love this App, specifically its layout, ease of use, rich information and superb illustrations, especially by Joan Van Gogh, whose work I am very familiar with (did you know, remarkably, she is a descendant of the impressionist Vincent Van Gogh?). The App is priced just right and certainly gives good value for money. My slight criticism though is that, as good as the illustrations are, they do not give a good overview of the entire tree and mostly do not include photographs. Also, although the focus of the App are our indigenous species, and despite the inclusion of many alien species, I have discovered a few at first use that are not. For example the English Oak (Quercus robur) established more than 200, possibly 300, years ago, so hardly an alien and ubiquitous in the Greater Cape Town. One can only hope that the database will expand with future updates and include an increasing variety of images.
