TheyChat: A Digital Journey with the Sahaba TheyChat is a Digital Humanities project that brings the lives and exemplary morals of the Sahaba—the founding generation of Islamic civilization—to life for today's digital generation. We built this platform by scanning tens of thousands of pages from classical Arabic sources like Ibn Sa'd's Tabaqat and Shamail literature, turning historical data into an AI-powered interactive experience. Key Features Interactive Conversations: Learn about the lives and memories of the Companions through written or voice-based chats. Text messaging is free as long as you have an active subscription. Data-Driven Visuals: We use a rigorous process involving historians and art directors to create symbolic digital representations based on anthropological data. Growing Library: We feature a diverse range of figures from 7th-century Hijaz society, with new Companions added regularly. Educational Focus: Designed to help younger users form an emotional bond with the Sahaba and see them as real-life role models. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions Access & Messaging: To chat interactively with the Sahaba, users need either an active subscription or available credits. Text Chats: Unlimited text messaging is included with an active subscription. Voice Features & Premium Content: Voice-based chats, extended conversations, and full access to certain Sahaba profiles may require a subscription or specific in-app purchases/credits. Ethical Boundaries All portraits are symbolic digital representations based on scientific data.
