About

Point your camera at anything and find out what it is. A plant on a walk, a coin in a drawer, a bug on the wall, a mark on the bottom of a bowl, a part you cannot name. Take the photo and Thingly tells you what it is. Then it keeps it. Every identification lands on one of twenty one shelves in your own collection, with the date, your notes, and a photo you took. A search engine answers and forgets. Thingly remembers. IT TELLS YOU WHEN IT IS NOT SURE Every answer comes with how confident it is, what in the photograph gave it away, and the next two best possibilities. When a photo is not good enough to be sure, Thingly says so and asks for a closer one instead of guessing at you. If the first answer is wrong, tap a runner up and the find is corrected. THE ANSWER IS NEVER BEHIND A PAYWALL Your first identification is free and shown in full. No blurring, no asking you to subscribe after you have already taken the photo. After that, scanning needs Thingly Pro. Your collection, search, notes and shelves are free forever, and there are no ads anywhere in the app. TWENTY ONE SHELVES, ONE APP Plants, animals, birds, insects, fungi, rocks and minerals, food and drink, coins and currency, stamps, art and design, landmarks, vehicles, gadgets, tools and parts, clothing and brands, books and media, toys, household objects, signs and text, sky and weather. One app instead of six. ASK IT ANYTHING ABOUT WHAT YOU FOUND How do I look after it. Is it safe around cats. Why is it that colour. What is it worth. Ask in your own words and get a straight answer about the thing in your photo. MORE ANGLES, BETTER ANSWERS Add a second or third photo of the same object and Thingly uses all of them. The underside, a maker's mark, a label. It costs nothing extra and it settles most of the hard ones. BUILT FOR CURIOUS PEOPLE Milestones as your shelves fill up. A streak for finding something new each day. A map of where you found things, if you want it. Kid mode for simpler words and no prices, so a child can use the camera on their own. YOUR COLLECTION IS YOURS No account, no sign up, no email. Your finds, photos and notes live on your phone and we keep no copy. Photos sent for identification are discarded the moment they are answered. Location is off unless you switch it on. WHAT THINGLY WILL NOT DO It will not tell you whether a wild plant, berry or mushroom can be eaten. It will not identify medication. It will not answer questions about anything on skin. It will not identify people. Those are deliberate limits. A photograph is not enough to make those calls responsibly. Identifications are estimates and can be wrong. They are for your own interest, not professional advice, and value ranges are rough figures rather than a professional valuation. THINGLY PRO Identify as much as you like, follow up questions on any find, your own collections and export. Weekly, monthly or yearly. No free trial that renews on you. Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. A subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
