It’s Twitter, minus everything except for the worst part of Twitter - the opinions. If the team behind this app is teaching me anything, it’s that the best way to promote your app is to be defensive and insecure online.

Potential
The app could’ve had potential as a fun thing to do with your friends - but I have a few comments:
1) the app is incredibly buggy. Poll percentages glitch up and down, the “stories” esque feature is really poorly designed (almost looks like the developer just used basic templates and put no thought into user experience), and the In app map simply does not work. In addition, there is a privacy feature which limits who can see your responses - but if you go on to other polls you can then see that person’s response ? What’s the purpose of this feature then?
2) as others have pointed out, there is almost zero moderation in terms of what is allowed to be posted. I’m aware that other apps also allow distasteful posts with little recourse but this is on another level. Simply put, it feels like it’s an app where people who don’t feel comfortable voicing their hurtful opinions on larger platforms can come and feel validated by others also doing the same. This is all done under the guise of “facilitating discussions”, but 8/10 polls I’ve seen seem like it’s just people looking for validation. Lastly, why is there a dating feature? It seems like the direction of this is all over the place.
Overall it could have been interesting if this was just an app where you can ask fun questions and have your friends respond - but the poor development of the app and the content just make it feel really mediocre.

Interesting concept
The concept is neat, but seems rushed to production.
There’s quite a few UI issues, such as the polls freaking out after you respond, and showing totals that add up to > 100%. You’re also able to answer polls twice, which seems like a validation oversight. The settings page was an exercise in patience to use - I tried entering my birthdate multiple times, but the app decided for me that my birthday would actually be the next day instead. You also can’t change certain things like gender after creating your profile (that I saw), but can change other things like postal code. Why not gender?
I’m not an iOS developer, but the app just didn’t feel like an iOS experience - in comparison to other apps I use regularly, the experience didn’t feel smooth, the app was slow to load, and had frustrating bugs to deal with that got in the way of what the app is supposed to be about - answering polls.
I think something useful for the app would be moderators, and a little more time in beta to add some polish and clear out the bugs before releasing the product. Interesting concept that needs some more time in the oven.

Unlike any most social media platform this app is very welcoming to all opinions amd views and is very new idea and super fun and engaging to use

Great addition to the social media scene. It is not only fun but it is creating useful information for those asking the questions. So proud it is also a Winnipeg born app!
Data mining with no actual utility
This is the story of how one obscure comedian tricked an entire city into mining data for third party companies. The app itself is based on answering mindless polls with little to no meaningful interaction. The only comments with substance are written by users who are encouraged by the creators of the app to mindlessly share opinions without regard to facts or any sense of personal accountability. What a great idea! Congrats everyone involved!

If your apps primary use is to sell my data, at least make it good one.

Not good, at all. So many stupid questions that are literally made to sell your answers to advertising companies. Save your time and don’t even bother with this at all. Not to mention the disgusting questions like “is drunk consent still consent?” Or, in a nutshell, “do trans people deserve human rights?” Awful awful awful.

“Giving data back to the people” aka third party companies
Interesting that this app is marketed as “giving data back to the people” when in reality it’s a way of collecting data from users first hand to sell to third party companies — they’re profiting off of “giving your data back to you”.
Oh, and you can’t delete your account (which if I’m not mistaken is illegal?) Do not download this dangerous app.

for privileged people to comment on minorites
not only does this app data mine, but minority groups don’t need a series of polls to have meaningful conversations about their oppressions, hardships and the violence against them. thinkster is for privileged people to feel like they finally get a say in the matters of our rights or lack thereof.
app barely works + content encourages harmful ideology
i’m all up for conversations, but this app has already shown that people with uneducated/harmful opinions can go here to be validated. there is no room for conversation. people can publicly claim things without any form of fact checking from the app itself. this entire app is unethical, and could easily get someone in trouble in their real life/workplace by the ease in which someone can find your account and view your opinions - regardless of if you’re a bigot. also has several bugs that need to be fixed.
