I just stumbled across this show and quickly went through all I could on Amazon prime. The YouTube channel, while full of videos, also seemed limited and a little hard to find what I was looking for. I am thrilled that this app, which is very easy to navigate, has comprehensive and free access to every season and every episode. Thanks This Old House!

Too long uploading new episodes
I think I’m going to cancel my subscription. You take too long to upload new episodes and seasons shot months prior. I would prefer the Netflix way drop the Season and let us binge the whole series.
“Subscribe” - “You’re already subscribed”
The app was great until I tried to watch This Old House tonight. I opened the app and rather than the play button, it had a subscriber button. Weird, since I already subscribed. Even weirder was when I clicked on the subscribe button and it said I’m already subscribed. I paid to stream the show but there’s no way to play it…please fix this issue

Ads for a subscription???
Used to be great until they started putting ads in it! Pay $100 a year for this and they’re making you watch ads. Will not be renewing!
Frustrated and Cancelled
I gave up trying and cancelled. Paid after free trial and now not able to watch programs. Support keeps saying there’s a tech issue and they’re working on a fix. Sent several emails asking for someone who actually works for old house to contact me. Crickets. Cancelled today.
Horrible Customer Service
Really disappointed in the customer service. One would think since the guys of the show are professional and cut no corners and very respected that would carry over - not so much. I’m literally getting charged for an app that I can’t use cause of subscription errors. I canceled and will watch whatever I can from YouTube. Take a cue from the guys on the show app team and do better.

Disappointing
I’m so disappointed with the way this app works. Seems fine at times but not really. I have billed twice for a yearly subscription within 3 weeks for something that I can barely get to work. I have emailed them at least 3 times and I get the same BS responses that they are working on it and they will elevate it. I can stream it from my iPhone to my Apple TV but usually after a couple of episodes it will kick me out and tell me my subscription is expired. I installed the APP on my Apple TV and it says my subscription is expired. I love this old house but there is no support from the APP it almost seems like a scam. I contacted my credit card company to try and get a refund for the double subscription charge one was through APPLE and the other was through the Apple TV app so disappointing

Theft
Paid subscription no longer working. No response from support. Straight up theft.
Don’t Do It
Legitimately one of the worst app experiences. My Insider subscription, which was prepaid for an entire year, isn’t working correctly and registering that I’ve subscribed. So the seasons I want to watch I can’t, and emails to support go unanswered. Beyond frustrating.
App is broken
I can login but once logged in it asks me to subscribe so no access to any content.
Scam
I tried cancelling my membership and they kept giving me the classic run around hoping I'd give up. They said I had to cancel on the device I signed up for it on with the same app, that device was destroyed in a flood... so impossible. I eventually talked to customer service and they said they'd cancel my membership, 3 months go by and I get charged an annual membership fee. I had to contest it with my credit card company because their email for support said it wasn't working, scam tactics hoping older people can't figure this stuff out! Despicable and the app is worthless too, just watch on youtube or hire a professional. Most of their info is outdated and I work in construction forensics.

Video all pixelated
The regular show is fine but all Ask this Old house episodes are pixelated now.
Crashes every time you exit the video (iPad)
I love the content and I’m happy there is an app, but every time you exit the video on an ipad by pressing the left arrow, the app crashes. This is true even after updating today.
Access to great content!
Love being able to watch the current episodes each week, as well as the back library of content as an Insider. No ads - great experience.

It’s interesting to see how the show has evolved over the years Especially since Bob hosted and developed it.
What a Wealth of Knowledge
They were definitely pioneers in their realm bringing DIY to the consumers, and almost 50 years later people like me are still loving every minute of the programs! I love seeing the old houses and the old way of building, designing, and finishing that is celebrated with this show. I have been sparked on a journey to understand the ins and outs of all things home building after starting with season one and continuing now until season 6. I look forward to absorbing all the knowledge and expertise the shows have to offer and love the tried and true methods shown.

Excellent
The issues mentioned in previous reviews appear to be resolved; app is very easy to use and remembers where you left off, even if you want to jump between seasons. There is a “continue watching” panel on the Home Screen, with about 4 options of your most recent watched content, but if you want to find something you had on further back, just find what season you were watching and the episode is highlighted so you can easily find that too. When you’re watching, it will automatically play the following episode, but you can select the ‘back’ arrow to go back to the main menu at any time. I like to use the screen mirror option on my iPhone so I can enjoy watching on my TV. No need to review the actual program, as we’ve all subscribed to be able to enjoy our beloved This Old House, that obviously gets 5 stars as well.

It’s fixed!
The old version of this app would crash often and had lots of bugs. But I just redownloaded it last night, and everything works better than ever! If you had given up on the TOH app, try again today.
