Each day splits into morning, afternoon, evening and overnight, and every part tells you how likely it is, how much of that stretch it fills, and how hard it comes down. Turns out "60% chance of rain" was hiding a lot. THUNDER, GUSTS, AND WHERE THE SNOW STARTS Heavy rain and a thunderstorm used to read the same. They don't anymore. Each part now carries its thunderstorm odds and peak gusts, plus the snow level when snow or ice is in play, because "rain or snow" depends a lot on which side of the hill you live on. IN THE US, THE PROS GET A SAY Inside National Weather Service coverage, Thor reads the forecaster's own gridpoint data and leads with it. When the NWS and Apple Weather disagree, Thor says the outlook isn't settled rather than quietly picking a favorite. Curious who said what? Weather Pro Info puts both side by side with their raw numbers. YOU ARE HERE The Storm Prediction Center severe outlook now tells you which risk area you're actually standing in, when it applies, and the tornado, hail and wind odds that come with it. No more squinting at a map of the entire country looking for your county. ASK THOR Tap the sparkle on the Weather screen and just ask. "Do I need a coat this evening?" "Will it rain during my afternoon?" Thor works it out on your iPhone from your own forecast, and the question never leaves the device. Requires an iPhone with Apple Intelligence. TWO WORDS: ASK THOR "Hey Siri, Ask Thor." Siri asks what you want to know, and you get your answer without opening anything. Start with the weather instead and Siri answers it herself, so lead with Thor's name.
