I was just browsing the App Store for a fun walking app and came across Thru: Virtual Hiking, wow what a pleasant surprise. A beautifully designed piece of software that makes me so happy that I have an iPhone. Thank you!

The cutest little app! Haven’t enjoyed one like this in awhile. If possible - could you add a description on how to get the widget to load when first installed? I had to find it on threads (unless it’s automating in an update soon)

thanks for the review! this issue should be fixed now :) after selecting your trail and start date, the widgets should load instantly and update reliably 🤞

Pretty legendary if you ask me, I love it.
Such a neat concept! Very light weight and incredibly well designed. I let out an “eee, I love him!” When I first opened the app and saw little man jump… and it was in that moment that I, a grown man, knew my SSRIs were working.
Anyways haha! I love the concept behind it, a product designer in California who grew up in BC and wanted to do a hike so created an app that could allow virtual hiking a bucket list hike while being tethered to reality (bills don’t pay themselves).
I’m not super into hiking but I love this idea and seeing your activity and how far you’ve virtually hiked along your selected path! I think it’s actually inspiring me to go on some hikes (literally touch grass tho amirite?) and even go on more walks myself cause I want to see that little guy reach his destination!
Idk why this is so long but I really appreciate this passion project conceptually and from a UX/UI standpoint!
