So sweet

Sweet idea! Love hiking through California, without actually being there 👍🏽

I

Goated widget

Suck a fun way to walk more!

Love this app — genuinely makes me want to walk more just to see the widget move. Super clean design, works exactly as it should.

Only wish is more hikes to choose from (only 4 right now), but I totally get that’s a lot of content for a small dev team to put out fast. Really excited to see this grow — keep up the great work! 🥾

Awesome

One of the coolest apps I’ve ever used, so simple yet so awesome. Would love it if you could connect with friends somehow but even without that it is and awesome app.

Great app and a very fun idea!

Just one issue: the music keeps switching off everytime I freshly open the app. I have to go to settings and toggle the Sound off and then back on to get the music.
Developers please look into this!

Otherwise a great app!

Really good app

It’s so aesthetic, the sounds are so calming and soothing. I’ve only just downloaded it though, so will come with more feeback. And to think this is totally freee!!!?? Thank you Aaron!✨🙏🏾

Pure Magic

Thanks a lot. Whatever occasion it is, whatever time it is - when I open this app, hear this music and read the locations I’ve “been through” - I just feel great.

Fantastic app

This app, while simple, I found is just a great way to motivate yourself to walk and the drawings are great

The Cutest App Ever!

Love that it visualizes my steps into a hiking map. Every day I’m excited to see my progress!

Won’t load

As soon as I open it, the music starts and then it says Blazing the Trail with that little circle of death spinning round and round and nothing happens. I’m really excited to use it. Any advice?
It’s a super cute concept though!
Really hoping I can get this running!

Cute and Simple

Love this app so much! Completely free, very simple to use, such cute graphics and the concept is great. I specifically love the widgets, especially the one that shows your steps for the day, which keeps me motivated.

Awesome!

Absolutely love this app. It scratches my itch to explore the world while I’m at home. The art style and music are great. I’d love to see all types of adventures added. Things like city walks, rainforest expeditions, famous pilgrimages, and other iconic routes around the world.

Add ways to freind people please!

Great app

Beautiful

Great app

i love this app

great app

clever idea and beautiful design

thought it was gonna be a paid app but pleasantly surprised to find out that it’s completely free. so refreshing to see nowadays

What a gem!

I was just browsing the App Store for a fun walking app and came across Thru: Virtual Hiking, wow what a pleasant surprise. A beautifully designed piece of software that makes me so happy that I have an iPhone. Thank you!

Cutest

The cutest little app! Haven’t enjoyed one like this in awhile. If possible - could you add a description on how to get the widget to load when first installed? I had to find it on threads (unless it’s automating in an update soon)

Response from developer

thanks for the review! this issue should be fixed now :) after selecting your trail and start date, the widgets should load instantly and update reliably 🤞

Wunderschön

Sehr liebevoll und motivierend. Klasse App!

Pretty legendary if you ask me, I love it.

Such a neat concept! Very light weight and incredibly well designed. I let out an “eee, I love him!” When I first opened the app and saw little man jump… and it was in that moment that I, a grown man, knew my SSRIs were working.

Anyways haha! I love the concept behind it, a product designer in California who grew up in BC and wanted to do a hike so created an app that could allow virtual hiking a bucket list hike while being tethered to reality (bills don’t pay themselves).

I’m not super into hiking but I love this idea and seeing your activity and how far you’ve virtually hiked along your selected path! I think it’s actually inspiring me to go on some hikes (literally touch grass tho amirite?) and even go on more walks myself cause I want to see that little guy reach his destination!

Idk why this is so long but I really appreciate this passion project conceptually and from a UX/UI standpoint!
