Our biggest update in a long time, focused on the marine reserves map, entirely rebuilt. MAP AND MARINE RESERVES - Every reserve has been redrawn from the official South and North Province data. Several outlines were inaccurate: Îlot N'Digoro was twenty times too small, and a boat a hundred metres away was not warned. - Two marine reserves were missing entirely: Îlots du Nord-Ouest and Îlots de Poindimié. - The app now displays the NAME of the reserve you are in, instead of a generic message. Where two reserves overlap, the smaller — more strictly protected — one is named. - Your position no longer appears in the wrong place: no need to zoom in to correct it. - The map engine has been modernised: smoother navigation, sharper outlines. - A clear message is now shown if the map cannot load, instead of a blank screen. - Map files are now updated with every new version of the app. TIDES AND WEATHER - The Tide chart and Wind buttons were unresponsive. Fixed, and you can exit the chart again. - Marine weather showed Noumea's data for nearly every town. Each town now gets its own. - Moon phase, sunrise and sunset are built into the app through the end of 2028: instant, even offline. - Tide direction is shown at any hour, including after the last tide of the day. - Your settings — favourite town, language, read messages — no longer reset. - The special weather alert (BMS) no longer reappears at every launch. PRIVACY - The app no longer sends any GPS position to a server. Everything now stays on your phone. STABILITY - Safer startup, and correct behaviour on a slow or interrupted connection.
