Really great app
Try a Solar-Powered Casio FX-260 from 1998 Instead of This Garbage
- egregious and offensive monetization
- RATE ME MOMMY
Pros:
- cautionary lesson in poor UX design
Hey friends! How would you like to pay a $15 subscription fee for a calculator? If that seems like a great idea, then this product is still not for you.
Sure, this app will add times together for you, but you better not take your eyes off the screen, because if you do, the app will ask you to rate it.
If you select one star, as you should, it will ask you again, no more than five minutes later. It will continue to do so until one of three things happen:
1) you agree to a $15 per month subscription fee (for a calculator),
2) you spend $30 on the one-time payment (for a calculator), or
3) you uninstall this app.
Iβm not even sure about the first two. I wonder if the app asks you to rate it even after youβve nominally βpurchasedβ it? Maybe in ten years once the US economy finally starts to recover, but I doubt it.
For the cost of this app, you could easily grab one of those old-school solar calculators from Casio or TI. Seriously, you can get two Casio FX-260 Solar II multi-function calculators from Amazon by tomorrow, and still pay less than you would for this app.
