Widgets are not fixed
In general I wish I could just enter time blocks directly into the app WITHOUT first syncing to an existing calendar app- if I wanted to use apple calendar… I would do that, and I hate having to use a secondary app just to use the features of this one.
Response from developer
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the frustration. The widget issue was unfortunately more stubborn than I initially thought. The fix in the previous release didn’t fully resolve it for all users, but I’m happy to say that it has now been fully fixed in version 1.17.3. If you update to the latest version, the widget should work correctly again. Regarding calendars, Align is intentionally designed as a layer on top of the calendar system rather than a standalone database. However, you don’t need to use your existing Apple Calendar setup. Many users create a dedicated calendar called something like “Align Time Blocks”, enable only that calendar in Align, and then forget about the rest. This gives you a planning experience that feels separate from your personal calendars while still benefiting from sync, widgets, and system integrations. Thanks again for taking the time to share your thoughts. Feedback like this helps me improve the app.
Helpful app
I was lost till I found this app

Thank you so much for this, it truly means a lot! I’m really glad the simplicity is working for you. That’s a big part of the philosophy behind the app. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a thoughtful review, and for trusting Align as part of your daily life 🙏
nice app but i have suggestions
- make syncing to calendar optional, for some reason i just absolutely hate apps that only work if it’s synced to the calendar, i end up deleting them the moment they ask for it sadly
- custom colours, i love colour coding my tasks so being able to use colours of my choice would be really helpful!
if you were to add these two features i’d absolutely love it! thanks!

Thanks for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate it! I totally understand your point about calendar syncing. Align is designed as a layer on top of calendars, so it does require one to work. That said, you don’t have to use your existing calendars, you can create a dedicated calendar just for Align and hide it from your main calendar app. That way, everything stays separate and doesn’t interfere with your usual setup. Also, good news: custom colors have already been implemented, so you can color-code your tasks however you like. Thanks again for taking the time to share your suggestions!
Love the App
Response from developer
Thanks a lot for the kind words. I really appreciate it! Just a quick update on this: that interface issue you mentioned has been fixed in a more recent version of the app. If you haven’t updated or tried it again in a while, it now displays everything correctly without getting cut off. I’d love to hear if it feels smoother now!
