What's New in TimeLocked

2.0

August 13, 2026

The app holds two different things, and they finally live in two different places. Vault keeps what waits until you ask for it — a key, a password, a note to yourself. Pause holds what comes back on its own: a purchase, a message, one more of anything. Each has its own "+" and its own allowance, and neither fills up because of the other. You, on pause — a tab that says what the waiting made of you. Not streaks: how deep your longest finished pause went, how far the wanting drops while you wait, and how fast it fades — "the wanting halves in about 9 hours; 24 hours is usually enough for you". It shows the hours your impulses actually arrive in, with one tap to shut those apps in those hours. Milestones are earned by what you did and never taken back. Every number waits until there's enough of your own history to mean something. Was it worth it? — days after you go ahead with something, the app asks how it turned out. Nothing else here can tell you whether waiting gives you better decisions or only later ones. Now it can. The next pause is proposed from your own curve instead of a default. Share two numbers and nothing else — what you let go and what you didn't spend. The card is never told the category, the name or what was inside. Five themes, each with its own light and dark, and the home-screen icon follows the one you pick. The countdown is a ring that empties. The nightly detox has its own app list — what you shut at 9pm to sleep isn't what you shut at noon to not buy. Apps can also be shut on their own for an hour or a day. Lock the apps while it waits — the shop, the feed or the bookmaker stays shut for as long as the decision does, and opens again with it. Screen Time does it, on your device. Photos you can't scroll: bring them in, delete the originals, and reach them only after the wait you chose. They open full screen now, and the list no longer shows them. Face ID asks once per sitting instead of at every screen, and a minute away doesn't cost an unlock. You start in the app, not on a passcode. The code that opens it is asked for once there is something inside worth keeping behind it. Adding something takes one screen. A name, the thing, and how long it waits — the app lock and the note to your future self are rows you open only if you want them. Every pause length is free, including seven days, and so is everything the "You" tab tells you. Premium — which locks the apps — also comes as a one-time lifetime purchase, at early access pricing.
