Wow! So many effects and options!

I recently stumbled on Tizima and was blown away by the sheer amount of options and effects in the app. Tizima has a non-standard iOS interface, so it takes a minute to get oriented within the app, but once you get used to it, it opens up an amazing array of settings to help you generate high quality digital artworks. The developer has kindly given 33 free exports to allow you to fully test the app, and if you decide to purchase after 33 exports, the price is extremely reasonable (and it isn’t a subscription). I purchased the full version after 5-6 exports to support the developer, and would happily have paid more.

Thx for a nice review! A LOT can be done with Tizima quite easily. With a little practice. Kind regards!

Well This is Fun

In response to the attentive developer: Thank you for considering some of the changes in my review. Even just incorporating the ability to save favorite effects would be a humongous help to professional artists who have to pay attention to every detail. It's very frustrating to finally find the perfect effect but discover you have to alter your image to make it work, yet have no way to apply the same effect after doing so. I'm not expecting Photoshop, which I do use extensively, I'm looking for different; your app covers that in spades and is exactly why I enjoy it so much. In fact, I also very much appreciate your philosophy behind the app because it very much *isn't* a philosophy akin to Adobe's. If you would like more specific feedback I would be happy to provide it and answer questions for you. If this idea appeals to you, drop an email address in your response and I'll be more than happy to get in touch.

Previously:
Imaginative, fun app. It does however, need some work. The most glaring issue is the size of the control panel that obscures a good third of the artwork. You can’t even keep the image where you put it, so you’re constantly sliding your art up so you can see the effects. Next, you should be able to make original resolution the default, I am NEVER going to downsize my images. There REALLY needs to be a way to save favorite effects, especially so you can reuse them or even more importantly, so if you have to redo something you actually can (this is vital). Also desperately needed is an undo button so you can revert to your last saved effect or easily go back to an effect you missed, the thumbnails aren’t enough. Better and more comprehensive instructions would also be an improvement. My biggest complaint about a specific effect is that while blurred background effects are cool, nobody is ever going to want huge sections of the foreground of their art blurred beyond recognition… blurred sections in the foreground should be kept to a few small sections. On my wish list: Effect sliders! Let me control everything please, especially colors, contrast and effect intensity (and blend modes would be especially handy). As a professional artist I’ll be keeping my eye on this one, it shows great promise. 3.5 stars (I’m rounding up with an extra half point for imagination). Good job, looking forward to future updates.

Hi Ladylonglocks. Thx for all your ideas. Some ideas I will be able to do/improve, but some surely not (just not possible the way I designed the app). As a one-man-band (I have only few hours of time each weekend over my regular job) developer I cannot even remotely do the complexity of professional apps like Photoshop, Instagram filters, etc. From the beginning I decided to do everything randomly as much as possible (with good results) so user does not need to do anything (sliders, etc.), just repeating each effect few times until satisfied with results. The downside of this approach is that results are never predictable, but at the same time it allows anyone (amateurs, young, old, kids) to make quite nice artistic photos/patterns/wallpapers in very short time without needing any knowledge/effort like professional apps do. When I will have some more extra time, I will try to do one Youtube tutorial explaining how things work (UI, effects, etc.). So, again thx for your ideas, I'll see what I can do about some of them.
