Double billed and never got an appointment

Avoid using this service. I attempted to speak to a doctor and after spending an hour stuck in a virtual waiting room I used the “cancel visit” button to end the call. The next day I saw they had billed me twice for $49. I was able to call and get one of the charges refunded but I have to wait for the rest of the refund while they investigate the double charge.

Beware

Until now I have had great experiences with TMC, including TMC Now. My last experience was the worst interaction I’ve ever had with a health care provider. Teladoc is the company who administers TMC Now and I’m told, will through the end of this year. In July I called for a virtual appointment for an uncomplicated UTI which is listed as an problem they treat. As they require, I paid in advance for the visit. During the visit I was told by the physician that they don’t treat women of my age virtually and I would have to go somewhere to give a urine sample. I immediately called requesting a refund and followed up with an email requesting one. The contact information was for Teladoc not TMC. I have never been contacted back with a response. Teladoc has more than 300 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, many of them for a situation like mine, in which they give an appointment for a problem they know they won’t treat and then will not issue a refund. I would never go near this company again.

To be fair, when I complained to TMC they offered both an apology and a refund.

7 hours of waiting for a callback is convenient?

What a waste of time. It was about 9:30pm on Xmas eve night when I realized I developed a UTI. I was relieved to see this app was available to give 24/7 services. The app said I was in the “waiting room” and I would receive a call shortly. I waited for a call until 3:30 am when I could no longer stay awake to wait up and fell asleep. I woke at 5:15 am to find I missed the call by 20 min. I immediately called back. The Rep didn’t seem to understand that I was calling back after getting the voicemail. Finally he said “ok let’s see how we can help” and proceeded to verify all my information several times. After all that, he said “well, if you don’t answer when we call, you need to go back into the app, cancel the visit and start over.” I really don’t know why I needed to spend 5 minutes verifying my appointment information with him when I got such a useless cookie cutter answer. I also don’t understand why it took 7 HOURS FOR A CALL BACK.
I could have just gone to sleep, gotten some rest and driven to the urgent care in the morning instead of waiting around for this stupid service.

Fast and convenient!

It was thanksgiving night and my 3yo son ended up in our room at 2am with a barking cough. By 445am he had a low grade fever and was struggling to breathe! I drew quick steam shower and gave him some Tylenol while downloading the app. We were seen within 5 mins with a croup diagnosis. Doc was kind and spoke with compassion to my son, quickly ordering meds that were ready for pickup when the pharmacy opened at 9am. Great experience, effective cost and so convenient. I will use this again, especially with sick littles!
