Critical Alerts bypass Do Not Disturb and the mute switch entirely. Your phone will sound the alarm even at 3 AM with the volume off. Your location is never stored on our servers, never shared with third parties, and never used for advertising. Location data goes directly from your device to api.weather.gov and nowhere else.
