Weak and not worth the money

This could be useful if it was more in-depth. The price is not worth the content

I want to know…

I’ve only been subscribed for a month, but this app has become a favorite. I love the in-depth “fact or two” of the day and look forward to it!
With that said, my concern is whether I will see new “facts” after I complete my first year, or will they just be repeated? My hope is that the app would present all new daily facts every year with no duplicates. Even better would be for the app to keep track of what was already presented to me so as never to offer up a duplicate.
If duplicates are in the future, I will then need to cancel. I’m hoping to get some clarification from the devs about this.
Also, what exactly happens when I thumb up 👍 or down 👎 a fact?
Thanks!!!

Response from developer

Thank you so much for the thoughtful message — we’re really happy the app has become part of your daily routine. To clarify: with the current library, daily facts may repeat after a year. We’re actively working on expanding the collection, but we don’t want to promise a fully duplicate-free new set until it’s actually ready. The thumbs up/down helps us understand what kinds of facts people enjoy. Over time, that signal helps us show more of what users like and less of what they don’t. Thanks again for asking — feedback like this is very helpful as we plan what to improve next.

Interesting Stuff!

Big fan of the app so far. Covering a wide range of topics from engineering disasters to cultural evolutions of different subjects.

For the app maker: I’m having an issue with liking post. Whenever I click the “thumbs up” button at the bottom of the read, it always highlights and clicks the “thumbs down.” Could be just a visual bug and I’m actually likening it, but I’m not sure. Can you guys fix this. Fan of the writing and I don’t want to dislike by accident when I want to like.

Thank you so much for the kind words - we’re really glad you’re enjoying the app and the variety of topics! And thank you for catching that bug with the “thumbs up” button, we’ve identified the issue and will have it fixed in our next release, which is planned for next week. In the meantime, don’t worry - your likes are still being counted correctly even if the icon looks off. We really appreciate your feedback and support!

Facts are too obscure

Could be a good app, but the fact that they give our two random cure to be of really any use

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing your thoughts! Factorium aims to provide a variety of interesting facts from diverse areas, including notable events, inventions, famous birthdays, and more. We understand that some facts may feel more relevant or engaging than others, as everyone’s interests vary. Your feedback is valuable, and we’ll keep it in mind as we continue to improve and expand our content. If you have specific suggestions or areas you’d like to see more focus on, feel free to share them with us!

Variety shadowed by birthdays.

The app is great, smooth and simple. Unfortunately I’ve been seeing lately a lot of birthdays were used as a historical fact. Mark twain and versace are the recent and I ponder, What is historical about their birth? Nothing. What they did in their life is historical!
Something historical that occurred today could have replaced mark twian or versace being born. And their success could have been put on the days they started their business or wrote his first big book. Unless the birth is the historical fact like the first quadruplets born.
There is so much history to be used that a simple birth of someone who became well known, famous or popular through an action or dedication years and years later shouldn’t be used.

Don’t download

The ads 100% ruin the experience. Most apps have ads off to the side that are non intrusive, these ads take up your whole screen, after being forced to watch the ad and trying to exit back to what I was initially reading, I got the spinning wheel of death. Do yourselves a favor and don’t reward the developers with a download.

I understand your frustration with the ads, and I'm sorry to hear they disrupted your experience. The developers have made a conscious decision to keep the app free by relying on ad-support, which is essential for the application to continue existing and improving. Unlike many other apps, the content you find here is created manually by a dedicated team of editors. They don’t just pull information from the internet or Wikipedia; they meticulously curate and verify the content to ensure quality and reliability. While the ads can be intrusive, they are crucial in supporting this level of detailed and accurate content creation. We appreciate your understanding and hope you give us another chance.

Factorium:

The app is a ripoff. Not what I thought it is. I immediately cancelled my subscription immediately. I however noticed that they will not cancel my subscription until 5/16/2025. What a ripoff! I have alerted my credit card provider.
Apple, Inc should be wary of dubious developers they endorse.
