Doesn’t work with new iPhones

Any chance this might get updated for new iPhones/iOS versions. It’s been years and it won’t connect to my 16 Pro.

Connect

App will not connect to my Tom Tom 400. It use too until the update. The device and phone go through the process as they should, they show as paired, but the device will not jive with the app.

Landscape Mode - The App Crashes when adding places

I really like TomTom’s products, but our sense of convenience is constricted through your lack of versatility in the MyDrive app. There’s no Landscape Mode for your application so it limits how I can use my IPad while your using your application, and sometimes the application shuts down completely when I add new places to my device through MyDrive or when I try to send addresses to my phone. Can you help us out TomTom?

Awful

Won’t stay connected and hasn’t for years. Maybe planned obsolescence so you’ll purchase again?

Crapware! Prefer to support subscription app

ACK! TomTom would prefer to develop its subscription app. iPhone 14 connects-disconnects repeatedly. Even when connected no syncing is done. 1 star is 5 too many.

Not compatible on iOS 16+ !

Bluetooth pairing appears to complete but devices cannot communicate. Connection drops out.

Tried with three different devices running iOS 16. - Issue repeats with all devices.

I was confused by the instructions

I'm using the app with the Go 520. Aside from navigation, traffic is very important. I couldn't get traffic to work until I, just by chance, turned on my phone's personal hotspot. It would have been nice if this was part of the instructions.

All the reviews are correct, maybe this app is dead and all those with TomTom devices are left with a useless device. My old original TomTom worked great for years and displayed real time traffic conditions all by itself! Now, With a newer TomTom, you have to download a cumbersome app and connect your phone to the device via Bluetooth just to get traffic. The Bluetooth connection never works! And the app suggests, in case of connectivity issues to use your cell phone hotspot!! The whole reason for me using a TomTom on long trips was to NOT use my phone/data/battery. So what’s the point of the TomTom when it requires an additional phone navigation app to work properly! (And then doesn’t!!) Definitely not an improvement and a waste of money.

Only missing one feature

First I would like to say we love the TomTom Rider 550 and the MyDrive app. However, there is one feature missing from the iOS app. The fifth star would be awarded if I could only import a .gpx file.

I know I can do imports on the desktop browser version but I don’t bring a computer with me on road trips. This feature would be very useful on the mobile app as well. iOS has access to file storage like the iCloud or Dropbox which will facilitate importing route files.

No longer work on newer iPhones in 2023

No longer works, tomtom maybe out of business?

I just purchased a Tom Tom rider 550. Tried connecting to my iPhone 14 and won’t connect. One of the reasons I purchased was to see incoming messages and Siri. App just seems to not be compatible. If you try and click on watch video or read the FAQ within the app the video is private and you can’t play and read the FAQ redirects you to a page that doesn’t load. Too much of a hassle. Will be deleting app and returning gps.

Could not connect to rider 550

Always says there is a problem without any reason. Even though the device is connected to my phone.

This app is and always has been a complete POS. The Tom Tom rider 550 is a fantastic piece of hardware, too bad it’s ruined by garbage software. Bluetooth my a*s.

Tom Tom, given the number of complaints about this, and your inaction to resolve the issues, you are negligent. I wouldn’t even consider buying a Tom Tom product in the future.

Désolant.

Ne fonctionne plus avec mon rider 400, impossible de se connecter. De plus aucune mise-à-jour depuis 2 ans. De retour chez Garmin bientôt.

Is this app dead?

I try and use this app. I really do. But it does seem like there really is no support for Apple devices from the developer. I have two TomTom devices, both a TomTom Rider 550 and Go Supreme. Both work great, they just do not connect with my phone and that is a real bummer. There have not been any updates in over a year, even though there have been new devices from both Apple and TomTom. The developer support link also appears to be dead as well. Some feedback or assistance would be great.

Great idea, very glitchy app

I want to love this app.
It saves me the hassle of having to program everything manually into my TomTom, but it’s extremely glitchy.
I have to log out and in to get it to properly upload my new map.
The only way to upload my trip is through WiFi, Bluetooth connects but it won’t update.
It will lock up if I leave the app, return and try to select another location.
If I add too many locations to my trip the app will lock up and crash.
It’s an extremely great idea, just loaded with issues from my experience.

Junk

I paid for the traffic and phone pairing with the app. Will not connect have gone through the pairing process, reset Tomtom, deleted and reinstalled the app restarted my phone all done several times still doesn’t work. Other reviews say the same thing. Worked when I first purchased but has not worked in over 2 years. Please fix the app! I have purchased other Tomtom products but if the app is not corrected this will be my last.

Keep trying to create account. Message “error, unable to create account”. What is the issue?? Very frustrating
