Why?

There are two things I wanna say

1. When I downloaded the app, I tapped the app then it kicked me right out of it. I think that you guys need to update that.

2. I opened the link from the email and it said something about a subscription. I think that’s ridiculous why do you have to pay for something that a teacher that could just help you with or you could just ask an ai app for free!?!

Thank you

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this! Really sorry about the crash on open, we'd love to get you back up and running, so please reach out through the live chat in the app or on our website and we'll take care of it. On the subscription, that's just how the app is set up right now. Our AI is built specifically for musicians and picks up on things general AI tools tend to miss, so it's a pretty different experience once you're in. We're happy to walk you through it anytime!

It needs money

The best part is you can’t take notes but it needs money what happens to those little kids who don’t have money?

Response from developer

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this! Tonic Notes is a paid app for now, but there's a lot packed in and we'd love to show you around. Please reach out through the live chat in the app or on our website anytime, we'd be happy to chat!

Essential Tool for Non-Native English Teachers

English isn’t my first language, but Tonic Notes understands me perfectly. It distills the key points from my lessons into clear, concise English and timestamps each point for easy reference. It lets me focus on teaching instead of stopping to write notes, and my students and parents love how organized everything is. It has been a fantastic addition to my studio!

Response from developer

Viv, thank you for writing this. Hearing that Tonic Notes distills your lessons clearly even when English isn't your first language is really encouraging, and it's one of the things we hoped the app could do well. So glad it's helping you focus on teaching and keeping everything organized for your students and parents. Thanks for making it part of your studio.

Great for parents!!

We love it for our daughter Ellie who’s learning flute. I'm usually the one who brings Elllie to her music lessons, but sometimes, when I'm busy with the younger one, my husband will have to take her. Tonic Notes helped us both be able to keep track of what Ellie needs to practice, even when the other person isn't able to be there!

Love it, wish I could print

Love this app! Two major drawbacks (that could be user error!): I can’t figure out how to print the homework page. This is essential for us because my music students are too young to have a device. Second, I wish it took videos, and that music clips started a few seconds before so that the kids could get counted into the clip. Otherwise this is awesome and we just love it!

Thanks so much for the kind words and the honest feedback. So glad you're loving the app! Printing and a bit of lead-in time on audio clips are both things we can look into, so this is really helpful to hear. If you'd like to chat more about how you're using it with your younger students, please reach out through the live chat in the app or on our website. We'd love to make it work even better for you.

Great AI Notetaking app for music teachers

Love using this app with my students since it actually understands musical terms and does a great job at summarizing the lesson. I wish I had this when I was still in school!

Response from developer

Thanks so much for this, PrestoKait. Making sure the app really understands musical language was a big priority for us, so it's really nice to hear it's holding up in your lessons. And the wish you'd had this in school is honestly the compliment we hear most, which makes us want to keep pushing it further. Happy teaching!

Best Music Lesson Notetaker in the world!

Tonic has been absolutely transformative for my teaching studio and my students’ practice habits. The impact it has had on accountability, organisation and motivation has been remarkable, helping students make more consistent progress than ever before.

The ability to provide detailed lesson notes and keep everything organised in one place has greatly improved communication between teacher, student and parents, making practice more focused and effective.

The Tonic team continually listens to feedback and consistently optimises and improves the app, which is something I truly appreciate. Tonic and Tonic Notes have become an integral part of my teaching studio, and I encourage all of my students to use them as part of their lesson and practice routine.

I highly recommend Tonic Notes to any music teacher looking to improve student engagement, practice accountability and communication. Thank you so much to Ray Chen and his team for creating such a life-changing app for music teachers and students alike.

Marlene, thank you so much for writing this review! Hearing that Tonic Notes is making a real difference for accountability, communication, and practice habits in your studio is exactly the outcome we hoped for when we started building it. We take feedback from teachers like you seriously, so it means a lot to know that's coming through in how the app has evolved. Ray and the whole team really appreciate this, and we're just getting started.

Teaching Game Changer

I have a violin studio of about 25 students of all ages and this app has transformed my lesson flow for the better. I keep notes for each student without wasting lesson time, and students have everything they need for practicing without having to use lesson time to write everything down. I love the audio clip feature from the transcript and the homework section is so useful for remembering what I assigned from the week before. Would be so hard to go back to taking hand-written notes after this!

Response from developer

Thanks for taking the time to write this! Twenty-five students is a lot of context to hold in your head each week, so it's great to hear the notes and homework section are actually saving you time rather than adding to it. Hearing that the audio clips are useful for your students is really encouraging too. Please keep the feedback coming. Happy teaching! :)

Great app

Really impressed with this app. It’s cool to be able to record my child’s lesson and the app summarizes the key points of the lesson for me so I can remember later when I help my child practice.

Response from developer

Thank you for leaving us this amazing review, MikayleDale! The lesson summaries are one of the parts we've spent the most time on, so it's really nice to hear they're useful when it comes time to practice at home. Appreciate you giving it a try!

Great app

Tonic Notes is simple, intuitive, and incredibly helpful for staying organized. The interface is clean, easy to navigate, and makes taking and managing notes effortless. Great app

Response from developer

Thanks so much for the five stars. Simple and intuitive is exactly what we were going for, so it's really nice to hear that's how it feels in practice. Glad Tonic Notes is helping you stay organized, and we've got plenty more in the works!

This might have changed my life

I have spent hours and hours of my life taking notes in my kids’ music lessons (5 kids, 7 instruments). Now I just record the lessons using this app, and then I have perfect notes with audio clips of certain things to work on. This app is a must have for Suzuki and musician parents everywhere. I’m amazed at the detail in the notes. It takes better notes than I ever did!

Thank you for the five star review, JmeJamie! Five kids and seven instruments is a lot to keep track of, so hearing that Tonic Notes is saving you real time means a lot. The line about it taking better notes than you ever did honestly made our day. Thanks for sharing this, and please tell us what would make it even better for a household like yours.

A great Secretary

English isn’t my first language, yet the Tonic Notes AI understands me, distills the most important points I make in a lesson, summarizes them in clear, concise English, and marks each point with a time index for later reference. Occasionally it makes a mistake (maybe my English isn’t clear), but on balance, it has been a helpful addition to my teaching studio. This app helps me keep tract of my each lessons and students can review the lessons whenever they want.

The perfect app to go along with lessons

This is hands down the best notetaker app for music. I don’t have to worry about anything except for tapping one button before the lesson starts, and the app handles the rest. I get a nice checklist of everything I should focus on, important notes, timestamps of key moments during the lesson, and more. I can actually see that I'm making real progress from lesson to lesson with Tonic Notes. Game changer for anyone who wants to take their journey to the next level!

This will change your teaching!

As part of my eternal quest to be fully present in lessons, I find note taking and assignment giving to be disruptive to the flow of instruction. Enter Tonic Notes, where the AI is designed with music instruction in mind. Not only does it provide a very accurate summary of the work in the lesson, the time stamps to return to playing examples are such a tremendous resource to the student and parent. Knowing that the app is listening has also changed my communication style for the better, making me a more consistent communicator. Thank you for this tremendous resource! I’m so excited to see how it evolves.

Thanks so much for writing this. Being fully present in a lesson while still capturing everything is such a hard balance, so it's really cool to hear Tonic Notes is helping with that. Lots more coming, and we're glad to have you along for the ride!

I can finally focus

Remembering everything we covered in a music lesson has always been incredibly difficult for me. This app allowed me to make the most of my lessons and and revisit key points I should focus on whenever I want. It accurately identifies who the speakers are and what instruments are played and I can bookmark them. 🤯🤯

Response from developer

Love hearing this. Remembering everything from a lesson is tough for pretty much everyone, so we're really glad the timestamps and bookmarks are pulling their weight for you. We're happy that the speaker and instrument detection is landing as well. Happy practicing, and let us know if there's anything you'd want to see next!
