Beware of in app purchases

I understand that the developer would like to gain money from the app, but I disagree with the logistics of the monetization here. This is a simple app, and some of the core functionality (playlist creation) is blocked by a paywall. It also seems very sneaky, once a user presses the add playlist button, the in app purchase prompt appears without any warning that there is a purchase ahead.

I don’t like the motive behind the app. If people pay for such limited functionality then that’s great for you, I just don’t think it’s right. If you provided a donate button rather than the sneaky paywall, I would have considered contributing.

— Update —

I do develop in swift for iOS, I respect the work you did on this project and I’m not trying to say the functional implementation is poor, I’m sure the app serves its purpose well. The reason for my criticism is solely in the paywall, I understand that your work is valuable and probably would have donated to you had I been given the option to use the app and make a judgement from there, or had at least seen a $0.99 label on the app in the first place. It doesn’t make sense to me that the app is free, but the main functionality of the app is behind a paywall, hence my review. I’m not trying to make life terrible or miserable, I don’t have anything against you - I just don’t agree with the monetization strategy employed by your app and wish to inform others that some of the core functionality cannot be accessed without first spending money since it’s shown that this is a free app.

Response from developer

No, you didn't understand a thing about my app. Are you a developer? You are saying that it's a simple app, but you don't have a clue about my work to get it done. I created this app because I was really annoyed by seeing just 5 or 10 songs from an artist. I was a user of rdio, and I was accustomed to searching for an artist and let all their songs play by popularity order. That's what my app is about. If you don't want to pay $0.99 for my work, please, find something free elsewhere. I didn't intend to create "sneaky" buttons or anything like that. There is an Apple paywall first, so NO ONE will buy it because it's "sneaky." Users (people) like you make life miserable. Terrible.
