Almost perfect app for UK hill walkers
I came to this app from the Ordnance Survey’s mapping app and was shocked to see that the sharpness and quality of OS Explorer (1:25k) maps was so much better in Topo GPS than in OS’s own offering. The range of metrics you can record in this app is also much better, and the Apple Watch app is perfect for following a route on OS maps without pulling your phone out of your pocket. Offline mode using downloaded maps while the phone is in airplane mode also works better than the OS app. There are just two things that Topo GPS lacks currently that would make it perfect in my book: (1) the map rotation when using ‘track up’ orientation is jerky - if this could be smoothed out, it would be nicer, and (2) the digital terrain model currently only covers England and Wales in the UK; I do most of my walking in Scotland, so an accurate DTM for Scotland would be great, please!

Blurry Topos
I was looking for 20 ft contours, which I know are available. These are 40 at best. The res blurs a bit as I moves around the map.
BRILLIANT!
I’ve been using this app for around 4 years now for navigation off tarmac on a motorcycle. It’s an amazing tool with massive functionality. The maps are very reasonably priced too, be that annual subscription or one off purchase. The crossover of planning on iPad and using on iPhone is very convenient. A few things I’d like to see are more countries (Portugal) and even a website planning platform. But really this is an incredible app and highly recommended.

Great map
Love to be able to leave a track and save on the go, pictures directly onto the map. Coordinates and time logged by itself.
