The Tor Project currently doesn’t have any official Tor Browser for iOS, as of Sept. 2026.
OrNET has been found to use third-party tracking services like Sentry.io, which can record user activity, contradicting its "no logs" claims. It also bundles a VPN that is not part of the open-source Tor protocol, introducing unknown logging policies and potential data leaks.
Community reports highlight intrusive ads, aggressive marketing tactics, and fake Tor circuits - the app claims to route traffic through Tor but it actually does not! Users report that the app may force subscriptions and fail to provide actual anonymity.
The only iOS app recommended by the Tor Project is Onion Browser (by Mike Tigas), which uses the Apple WebKit engine - but it still lacks the full privacy protections of the desktop Tor Browser - due to iOS restrictions.
For secure iPad/iPhone browsing, Onion browser or Orbot with a compatible browser are best ‘better-than-average’ options, but neither have full privacy protections due to iOS restrictions.
If true privacy and security are high priority, AVOID OrNET entirely and only use Tor Browser with a verified VPN on a trusted desktop computer.

Awful terrible and useless app. Once you get past the literall 10+ full screen timed popups that interrupt you and force you into a paid plan, it doesn’t work. Could not pull up any onion links on this garbage.
