Total Returns Stocks Dividends User Reviews

Top reviews

Ok but could be Better

The app does what it says, but could be a lot more valuable if it had the ability to show actual values by inputting a starting position at the start date, ether number of shares at price, or even a dollar amount invested. The results could then be further clarified with metrics for price change over the period as well as total dividends collected. As it stands right now, the users has to do a lot of manual calculations to get useful information to make a decision.

Really good!!

I got this on a whim, hoping it would be worth it. As other reviews have stated, it’s an incredibly valuable metric to have. I’ve already used it a bunch to make decisions about long term investments, and I’ve made different decisions as a result. Brilliant app, simple concept but fills a real gap in analysis.

The best stock market app of all

Total return is at or near the top of lists of stock, bond and fund market metrics. It’s hard to make good investment decisions without it. However it is almost universally ignored in the zillions of pages produced by professional market analysts. This app dredges up historical prices and dividend/interest payments to calculate total returns for over 10,000 securities. The results are displayed on interactive comparative charts that show both total and price only returns. The user interface is one of the best I’ve seen, avoiding strange and unfamiliar symbols often found in today's apps.

Response from developer

Thanks for the feedback. We just wanted to focus on displaying the dividend delta. Occasionally we post charts @TotalreturnC feel free to post one with the handle and we will retweet it. 👍🏻📉📈

Awesome!

Thank you for the update, this app is a true gem.

Essential app

The ability to look at the total return is “game-changer” when it comes to comparing mutual funds or individual stocks. This is particularly true when comparing equities to bonds where adding returns - dividends and interest respectively - can change the performance characteristics substantially. In addition, and unlike many other app and websites, this app allows you to define the time range you want to look at. I find this feature incredibly helpful. One feature the app does not have that I think would useful, is the ability to compare funds where you add a monthly contribution, as this would more closely reflect what most people do in their 401k and such. Still, even without this feature, this is by far the best financial app available for comparing one-time purchases.

Cannot Enter Symbols in iOS 13

Upgraded to iOS 13 and now cannot enter equity symbols. What is the issue?

Response from developer

Thanks for bringing it to our attention. ** Our Jan 2020 update fixes a pesky iOS13 bug 🐜 ** UPDATE: download the Free 📲 update. Other usual user related issues: Are you hitting ‘return’ on the keyboard after typing in the ticker? Only then Swipe left for the charts. Also ensure you have the Start date earlier than the End date. Please email 📧 first via our website, cloudEpsilon.com instead of posting usage issues here. Thanks for your understanding. 🙏🏽

Not ALL Tickers

I found what looks like a bug when submitting the tickets SPUU and PPLC. The tickers are accepted, but the chart shows only a vertical line. I’d prefer not to identify a bug on the reviews page, but there’s no “contact” or “submit bug” or even “help” button.

Response from developer

Data aberration fixed. Thanks. The App site is correctCharts.com from where an email can be sent. Info@correctCharts.com listed on the Appstore description page. At eodhistoricaldata.com there is a input box on the main page where index and ticker syntax can be identified. 👍📚

Useless for Indian Markets

this is absolutely useless for indian markets and does not fetch tickers from Yahoo Finance as claimed.
return my money or remove the limitation😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Excellent information - portrait mode only

As a large portion of stock returns are from dividends and reinvested dividends, this is an important aid especially to an investor in individual stocks.

It is inconvenient that it displays portrait mode only.

** update to the Jan 2020 version, no subscription fee 👍✅ *3 usage tips: Designed for the Portrait mode only (iPad). iPhone📱✅ Also need to hit ‘return’ 🔨on device keyboard after typing in the tickers (separated by a comma). Start Date is *always* earlier than End Date.📆 ** International tickers 🌎 can be looked up via search box at EODhistoricaldata.com **A cool feature is time-slice comparisons. So see how your assets did say from Jan2007 to June2010 Etc. Stress test. Thx for your interest.👍🏻📚💹📈

Great research tool

Rare one stop source of comparative total return data. Easy to use. OS device must be set up to allow in app purchases.

Response from developer

Thanks. Four app usability items: 1. After typing in a ticker say TLT, you *need* to hit ‘Return’ 🔨on the iPhone keyboard📲. Only after that ‘Swipe left’ ⏪ to see charts. 2. For International 🌏 tickers pls. Look up your company at ‘eodhistoricaldata.com’ Indexes work too, with .indx extension, eg DJI.indx , HSI.indx 3. Now our pricing history goes back to 1962 (try IBM, GE) 🗓, this App shows ‘very long term charts with dividends/interest included.’ 4. Use iPhone screenshot to save and edit graph image in your Camera 📷 roll.

Only app for dividend inclusive Total returns

This is a great app for long term investors and advisors. Have tried many apps but only one to give and compare TOTAL RETURNS on ETFs, Mutual funds, global stocks. Thrilled with app, intuitive interface, very useful. It could use a “clear all tickers” button. Glad it’s back after a year. Helps me unmask investment selections that show full impact of bond interest and stock dividends, that most websites fail to show.
