No longer has the schedule for garbage, green bin or yard waste pickup, and is pretty useless now.
No collection schedules
The city privatized collection in Etobicoke months ago and no one has figured out how to post an updated collection schedule yet this year. That is the one thing I used the app for so it’s useless to me.
Default address
This still DOES NOT work!! Also, there is nowhere in Settings to store your address.

Broken app
After the last update, this no longer shows the schedule nor is it even up to date on its info. The city is aware. They’ve sent out hard copy (paper) or use their website. I hope they fix it but it’s been 2 months now. I’ll update this review once they do.
Doesn’t work
This app used to indicate what would be picked up and when. Something happened recently and it stopped working.
No longer shows recycling days
Understand the city don’t manage recycling pick-up anymore, but it’s silly that this app doesn’t show the recycling dates for pick-up. Their printed calendar does. The app should too.
New year drops blue bin recycling
New year drops blue bins from the schedule and calendar? I know there’s a new company but why spend all this money on an app that doesn’t have recycling included? Horrible waste of tax payer money.
No garbage schedule for 2026
No pickup dates for 2026, and no notification on that screen. Hopefully you happen to navigate to a totally different screen where they mention it. Total amateur work, embarrassing.

Downloaded new version of app. It doesn’t work. Freezes when searching for pick up schedule for my address.
Stops working end of every year
Every year in December this app does not show the garbage calendar anymore. Why can’t this be fixed? We get a published calendar every year, so why can’t the city keep this app working through year end?
Waste app
This app worked extremely well until today!Getting rid of the blue bin confused the developers!!!
Not working
App said to delete and download new app. I did. Now the schedule won’t work.
Can’t set default address
No setting to set default address and your feedback link is broken in settings. App looks unprofessional
The Waste Wizard is an amazing resource!! 🏆
I am so impressed with this app and whoever has been populating the Waste Wizard database with info about which items go into which type of waste bin! Very rarely do I look anything up and find it’s not yet in the database. It has made the previously stressful, uncertain matter of choosing where to put things (people do actually care about not polluting waste streams) almost fun.
Honestly, it’s so clear & informative that there’s virtually no excuse for anyone to put any waste in the wrong place. The City of Toronto should be vigorously promoting this invaluable tool.

Useless
App is garbage (heh) for half the city! Anyone with nighttime collection, or lives above a store on a main street, or in an apartment building. Why can’t it work for those categories? Make it make sense!
Plus, for the addresses it *does* work for, it only gives the next two weeks collection info. The paper calendar they used to send in the mail showed the whole year, so why can’t the app?
It would be awesome if the city hired some decent devs to bring this app up to modern standards. Being able to take a photo & have it ID where it belongs would be amazing… but since they can’t even get reminder notifications to work, nor even list the full collection schedule for ALL addresses—and that the app hasn’t been updated in over a year—I seriously doubt we’d get anything that “advanced”
