About
The Trajectories of Risk and Cognitive Change in Mental Health (TRACC-MH) study analyzes high-frequency, real-time data on cognition, psychological function, and physiological activity to improve prediction of mental health outcomes. This study includes participants from inpatient psychiatric units and outpatient settings. TRACC-MH is part of IMPACT-MH, a research consortium funded by the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH).
TRACC-MH is the participant app for that study. This app may be used only by individuals enrolled in the TRACC-MH study at McLean Hospital.
ACCESS
Access is by invitation only. You need a study code and login credentials provided by your research team — the app cannot be used without them.
WHY THIS APP
Most assessments capture a single moment. TRACC-MH is built to capture what happens between those moments, so researchers can study how cognition and behavior shift over time and how those patterns relate to mental health.
WHAT PARTICIPATION LOOKS LIKE
• Short surveys and daily diaries at times scheduled by your study team
• Brief cognitive tasks you complete on your phone
• Reminders so you know when something is due
• A view of your own schedule and participation progress
BACKGROUND DATA COLLECTION
With your permission, the app collects contextual information in the background — including location and general device activity patterns — so researchers can relate everyday context to changes in cognition and mood.
You choose which permissions to grant. The app shows a persistent notification whenever location tracking is active, and an in-app dashboard where you can see what has been collected. You can change any permission at any time in your device settings.
PRIVACY
Your data is transmitted securely and identified by a study participant code rather than your name. It is used only for the purposes described in the consent form you reviewed with your research team.
SUPPORT
For questions about the study, your schedule, or your data, contact your research team using the details they provided.
TRACC-MH is built on MetricWire's research platform.
