About

Trace adds the tools the built-in camera leaves out, so photo shoots go faster and come out more consistent. - Take a photo with every rear lens in one press, and zoom each lens on its own or all together. - Line up a new photo with an earlier one using a see-through overlay. - Keep the phone straight with a level that shows tilt in both directions. - Lock exposure and white balance, and save your settings as presets. - Use a timer, or take a series of photos at a set interval. - Review and compare each shoot, then save the photos you want to your photo library. - Save any photo into Trace from the share sheet, add Trace widgets to your Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Center, and open Trace from the Action button or Camera Control. Your photos stay on your iPhone. Trace has no account, no ads and no tracking. Taking a photo with every lens at once needs an iPhone with more than one rear camera. The Action button and Camera Control need iOS 18.

What's New in Trace

1.1.0

September 22, 2026

- Save to Trace: send any photo into Trace from the share sheet, as a library photo or as a reference. - Widgets for the Home Screen, Lock Screen and Control Center. They show how many photos are waiting for review, never the photos themselves. - Open Trace from the Action button or Camera Control (iOS 18). When the phone is locked, a simple Trace camera opens and the photos are filed into your library once you unlock. - Camera Control and the volume buttons take the photo in the viewfinder.
