About

Tracejar is built around absolute privacy. Your journal and photos stay on your device and in your own private iCloud — never on our servers, never used for tracking, and never seen by us. ABSOLUTE PRIVACY, BY DESIGN • No accounts, no sign-up, no tracking, no analytics, no ads, and no third-party SDKs. • Entries stay on your device and, if you choose, in your own private iCloud. We have no servers, so we cannot read them. • App Lock, a separate album passcode, and Face ID or Touch ID unlocking let you decide who can open the app and when. A PRIVATE ALBUM WHERE YOUR PHOTOS STAY ABSOLUTELY PRIVATE Some photos don't belong in your camera roll. Photos in Tracejar's Private Album are encrypted on your device with AES-GCM before they are saved or synced. After a successful encrypted import, Tracejar asks iOS to remove the selected originals from Photos; they stay in Recently Deleted for 30 days so you can recover a mistake. They never appear in your journal timeline. Only you can unlock them, with a dedicated album passcode separate from App Lock, plus optional Face ID or Touch ID unlock on that device. Even in your private iCloud, Tracejar stores only encrypted data. Swipe, pinch to zoom, save, share, or delete only when you choose. Switch away and the album locks itself. There is no back door: forget the album passcode and no one, including us, can open those photos. MADE FOR IPHONE DUO Tracejar adapts to iPhone Duo's compact folded display. The Private Album turns into a comfortable two-column grid, and security settings tighten their spacing so everything stays easy to reach. Standard iPhones keep the roomier three-column album. SPEAK IT. DON'T TYPE IT. Tap the microphone and just talk. Your words land in the entry as you speak, in dozens of languages, ready to edit. Record a voice note and get its transcript too, or turn any voice note you already have into text with one tap. Transcription runs entirely on your device. (Voice to text requires iOS 26 or later.) A WHOLE PAGE IN ONE SCREENSHOT Long-press Screen Recording in Control Center, choose Tracejar, and scroll. Stop, tap the notification, and Tracejar stitches everything into one tall image: a long chat, an article, a receipt, a travel plan. You can also stitch a screen recording you already have, or a few screenshots. Save it to Photos, share it, or keep it with today's entry. FACE ID OR TOUCH ID LOCK & DECOY MODE (optional) Lock the whole app with Face ID or Touch ID, depending on your device, plus a separate App Lock passcode. Turn on Decoy Mode and, if biometric recognition fails, Tracejar shows an ordinary-looking, empty-feeling timeline instead of a lock screen, so a glance at your phone reveals nothing. You return to your real entries by long-pressing the settings icon and entering your App Lock passcode (or with biometrics). Your passcode is never stored in readable form, and a new device signed in to your iCloud asks for it once before it shows your journal. EVERYTHING ELSE • Text, photos, videos, voice notes, mood, tags, and (optionally) where you were • Tap any photo to zoom in, save it to Photos, or share it • Real-time #hashtag highlighting while you write • Long-press to paste text or an image straight into an entry • "On This Day" to revisit past entries • Export everything to CSV whenever you want • Two looks: a warm "Standard" theme or a monospaced "ASCII terminal" • Left- and right-hand layouts, on iPhone, iPhone Duo, and iPad No ads. No subscriptions. No account. Just a quiet place that's only yours.

ABSOLUTE PRIVACY, REFINED Your Private Album now has its own passcode, separate from App Lock, with stronger control over exactly how your photos are protected. • Photos are encrypted on your device before they are saved or synced. Your iCloud receives only encrypted data. • After a successful encrypted import, Tracejar asks iOS to remove the selected originals from Photos. • Biometric unlock now adapts automatically: Face ID or Touch ID, depending on your device. • The Private Album has its own passcode. Changing it never changes the App Lock passcode, and vice versa. • Turning album biometric unlock off immediately removes the on-device biometric copy of the album key. • Optimized for iPhone Duo: the Private Album switches to a comfortable two-column layout on its compact display, while standard iPhones keep three columns. • A cleaner photo viewer: controls now sit on their own black bar instead of on top of your photo. Tap the photo once to hide them and see the whole image edge to edge. There is still no back door and no recovery for a forgotten album passcode — not even for us.
